The thing is these are all american muslims. If you live in a muslim country as a non muslim things are pretty different . They always want to convert people, they believe in war where they will fight with the non belivers and take their wives and childrens as slaves. Ya most of the muslims are not bad. but they should critisize more about their own people who are doing something wrong. In conuntries like pakistan, bangladesh, india, afganistan if you are living as a minority you will get the real picture of islam. In western countries its different. When they will grow in numbers in those countires they will surely force islamic laws and opress secularism for sure. its just a matter of time. Dont have anything against muslims . Just hope that they need to get rid of the convert mentality and respect secular laws while practicing their own faith

I believe that the Saudi Muslims are the largest problem with we in the US thinking all Muslims adhere to the Saudi's, then we have the Jihad stuff, which like black gangs, or Mexican gangs, make the white population in the US in areas where it is mostly white, it makes those think that all blacks are like the gangbangers, all the Mexicans are affiliated with the cartels, and so on. I am an independent believer in the ONE Creator, so I don't usually fit in in 98% of American church groups. I find that I only want to make my ideals and morals to be the Way the One Creator asks of us in the bible. I would assume that Muslims are also wanting to live the way their Books teach. I am not religious, I am spiritual, because I believe in a Supernatural Creator who is outside of time, outside of physics, and so on. I find religious people grating and unaccepting.

I’m Christian and have traveled to several Muslim countries (to include Yemen). I enjoyed every country and its people.

They are culturally very diverse in how they interpret the Koran regarding women’s rights.

The woman that spoke about women’s rights not having come far in America really needs to live in a Muslim majority nation like Iran, Afghanistan and Yemen. She is very I’ll-informed.

The lack lady that said her issues with her coworkers are more about her being black than Muslim. I suspect their issue with her isn’t about her skin color, but rather her attitude. It was quite evident in this episode.

The man in the yellow pants said he doesn’t know about women’s rights in other Muslim countries. He could if he traveled more, read books or information vi the internet.

I was also shocked to hear the white convert say that he lies to people inside the mosque by telling him that he’s Yemeni. So, you lie before/after you pray inside the mosque? Also, I’ve been to Yemen. You could not pass as a Yemeni, not even the few Yemeni Jews that once lived there.

The Yemeni lady was correct in saying there was a form of head covering in Christianity and Judaism as well. Growing up Catholic, my grandmother used to tell us girls that we should cover our heads when going to church. There are many aspects of the Catholic faith that have gone by the wayside to the point where many churches are excepting things that fly in the face of God’s word into the church. It’s sad.

I’ve had Yemeni coffee from Mocha while in Yemen…AMAZING! Also had Ethiopian traditional coffee….I was awake for 3 days!

My impression of Islam was based on the Pakistani Cabdrivers and deli workers who called me a whore because I was friendly and asked them where they were from. After calling me a whore, they would ALWAYS say, “But don’t worry, a day is coming when all will know who is the true god!” This was prior to 9/11. However! Post 9/11 I started to get to know Muslims who prior to 9/11 I had no idea that they were Muslim. A lot has changed but Jesus uses all things for good for those called according to His purpose. The Saudis are changing because of economics and how oil is becoming an unpopular resource. In 2020 the Saudis had bus tours to the real Mt Sinai which is in Midian in Saudi Arabia!

Islam and Islamic people are a beautiful thing. I'm a white guy in Ohio and I can't stand all of this hate for skin color and ethnicity. It's nonsense honestly. Media causes ruckus off the actions of one or two people and their all deemed bad. But these white kids shooting up everything and their is no reflection on all of us white folks.. So why be a hypocrite? Not necessary. All people and every place is beautiful!! Even the slums and hoods have beauty to them.

When a Muslim does, he is often defined as a Muslim or an Islamic terrorist. I would like Muslims to consider, we do not use terms like Christian architecture, Christian heritage, Christian history, Christian cuisine etc... we say Greek architecture, English heritage, French history, Italian cuisine. Why then do many Muslims (and Orientalists alike) insist on such terms as Islamic architecture, Islamic heritage, Islamic history, and even... Islamic cuisine! As if there is such a thing! I have heard these used especially by Islamist (politically motivated Muslims who wish to renounce their specific cultural identities in exchange for a Universalist Islamist one) and Orientalists writers, used in place of Arabic architecture, Turkish heritage, Iranian history, Afghani cuisine. One cannot choose to have only the good generalized if they do not accept the bad to be generalized as well. More awareness is needed to combat the bad and even the good generalizations. It would have helped Peter Santanello's interviewing with Arab communities to specify that many Arab Americans, in fact originally most (not sure if it is still the case) are Christians, and they predate any European Christians. Even if the video is about Muslims, it was also about defeating misconceptions.

Assalam Alaikum. I was convert to Islam. I am none among of Sunni, Shia, salafi, etc.. But I am One of Muslim and followed by prophet Muhammad SAW.

I am happy that these people are pious and happy together, but Jesus is the only way to Truth and Saviour!!!!!

I guess my question for this group would be “do you want to kill the infidel and who do you define as the infidel?” I’m asking this seriously…I realize some might think this is offensive even to ask. I watched this video and thought “what a nice group of people!” And then I wondered how they each would answer my question.

I believe this is at the root of “Islamaphobia”. We’ve been taught and shown in Islamic writings that followers of Islam are duty-bound to kill the infidel. And anyone who doesn’t accept the teachings of Islam is an infidel. Yet this group spoke about accepting people of all religions, not waiting for the opportunity to kill them.

But those people do exist…9/11 happened exactly for that reason…and they shouted Allahu Akbar (sp?) as they flew into the towers and Pentagon. Where is the boundary for the people in the video? They’re Americans…are they called to kill Americans who refuse to convert to Islam? Is that just a wee tiny minority of the followers of Islam? This is the information that needs to be taught to those of us who don’t follow Islam!

The congresswomen who are Muslims are well-known for making hateful statements against the Jews. That is a fact. Where would they fit in with the people in the video? Would they be accepted, supported, agreed with?

Muslims publicly denouncing the Muslims who are calling for “death to the infidel” and who are making horrible statements about Christians and Jews would go a long way in changing the attitudes and perceptions of those who are wary and cautious with Islam.

Please understand my intent in asking these questions: I do not hate Muslims. I want to relate to them just like I would relate to any other person. But the memory of watching the news reports of Muslims all over the world celebrating on the evening of 9/11 is strong in my mind. I want to know WHY I should trust them…because I really REALLY want to!

As an architect muslim from the middle east. I really liked this video. I also noticed something that we have lost, the communal space, seating area.

The big room with seats, cushions, all around the room, and big carpet in the middle is so important for a community, family, discussions, than a living room with a big TV and and a rocking chair. People eating together without a limited seat number of the dining table and just be humble together.
