I heard that a cashback bonus from a credit card is not taxable as income. If I record it as other income, will it be taxed by the IRS? Should I record it as a credit to an expense account instead?

Please say more about deactivating accounts and making transactions inactive rather than deleting things. I was a Tier 1 QBO tech support for many years and those two things caused maybe 20 or 30% of problems. Never, never, never delete.

We are just about to pull the trigger on QBO for our small business. What are the best practices for tracking projects/job specific profitability? Using Chart of Accounts/sub-accounts or another method?

Long story short, my wife and I run a non-profit foster care agency. Neither one of us know QB or accounting in general real well. We have QB Online. Used for 4 years. I need accurate reporting. I'm not getting accurate reporting because of payroll things being misclassified. I have an actual accountant do payroll. Sends me a Journal Entry to enter every time we have payroll. Problem is I don't think I'm classifying things right. For instance, Federal tax payments have listed under payroll tax expense. This is not a company expense techically but I dont know where it goes. When I pay our Health insurance, I have it classified as an expense when I know that's not entirely true. 1/2 is employee cost. Do you have a video showing correct classification for these things?

My grandson started his own business in January of 2022. He had someone set up QBO for him. She had no idea what she was doing. Fast forward to July 2023 - he has asked me to work for him and get QBO caught up and working so he can file last year's taxes. I have never used Quickbooks. As I was instructed - I took all of his receipts that came in a grocery bag and entered them as expenses. COMPLETE DISASTER!!! How do I start over? I want to get rid of everything currently in the system and set it up following your video's?
