i like this music video way more than the original. this is more independent and queer-coded. it's representation and i think that's why her label wanted her to make something, similiar but also way different to what she wanted. ryn wanted the raw truth, and i see that with the way they get grabby and more sloppy with eating food. the tentacles are bizarre and raw. it shows personality; and to have a more "masculine" woman eating with her and joining on the food fight, it feels like i'm watching an awesome victorian lesbian romance/drama. her label probably showed this original music video of a little girl struggling with ryn, the way ryn holds the bow for this girl to defeat whoever is their enemy, but, overall, the label didn't want to make a direct nod to the lgbt community. just MY representation.
