I would like to know if you can help me. I am currently working on my 4 camera setup for streaming to OBS. I want it all to run anamorphic lenses. I have 2 full frame Sonys and 2 apsc Sonys. Im wondering should I just buy the full frame anamorphic set or 2 full frame and 2 apsc. What will give me the best cinematic image? Just wwant to order the right parts. Also I have a 28-70 gm so I was planning on buying that adaptor that will bring my Sony gm to anamorphic? Wondering if that will have my gm matching the other anamorphic full frame sets?
ОтветитьWhy would you need a wider aperture? What for?
Ответитьwhat professional diopters to you recommend? I'm seeing; Hoya 82mm HMC Close-Up Filter Set II, Includes +1, +2 and +4 Diopter Filters
ОтветитьI am planning to buy sirui anamorphic lens set. But I can't decide Which mount should I buy. If I buy PL mount then I can use it with Sony E Mount cameras or Canon EF mount cameras with metabone adapter. Now my question is is there any back focus or vignette issue or any other issues in case of using adapter?
ОтветитьAnother interesting and informative review... but I still have one question: what KIND OF ANAMORPHIC CONSTRUCTION is this lens? Middle-anamorphic?.. no front or back cylinder elements visible... and some anamorphic effects seem to be restrained... any guess?
Ответитьwhat diopter should I purchase with it?
ОтветитьI would like to see an in-depth discussion about the pros & cons of using Sirui's full-frame anamorphic lenses and their APS-C lenses on a full-frame camera like the Sony A7IV. The price is significantly different, but both "work," so I feel like it warrants a discussion, and you would be a great person to head said discussion!
ОтветитьHello..was looking into anamorphic lenses to experiment with my photography..notice the name labels "Venus" and "Saturn" lenses?..what is the differences between them?..and what does the "1.25 x Anamorphic Adapter do? to the lens/image?..thank you
ОтветитьHi, love your channel. I am a Fuji Shooter (XH2S) and I have zero experience with anamorphic yet. I have seen some content creators with the combination Sony A7S3 and the Sirui 35mm. I like the look of it. Is there something I can buy to get simular results (1.6x squeeze factor) without selling my kidney to afford an anamorphic lens?
Ответитьhi there, Always great Tito. I was wondering if you would like to do a comparison with this 35 to the new saturn 35 . have a great day.
ОтветитьFinally a lens with distortion, glad to see this becoming an option once again. Wes Anderson lens choice has ruined my anamorphic preferences to be only of the expensive type (see the widest Elite anamorphic from share grid Test for example).
Ответитьwhy cant u use AF
Ответить...been looking. lotta Canon C70's out there... do you know of ANY Anamorphic lenses that will work with no hassle with the Canon C70 with EF Adaptor? Even 1 would be better than the none I have found. Also... if not that...what's next best option to get "the look"... thanks for your info...
ОтветитьHi an other great video. Just one question from a French filmmaker who is new in the anamorphic world. I’m also filming on a Lumix S1. What’s the point of getting the full frame Siriu line-up instead of the m4/3 with an adaptator m4/3 to L mount if the anamorphic mode on the S1 works on the apsc mode of the sensor. Because if I have understood the principle of anamorphic it works on an 4/3 ratio of sensor…. Or am I wrong ? THX a lot !!
Ответитьtheres actually a newer one coming soon
ОтветитьTerrible distortion though.
Ответитьlove the cat!
ОтветитьFor Sony users, there's a great app for Android and iPhone called Monitor+ that allows you to plug your phone into your camera and use it as a monitor! The paid version is $19 but it's cheaper than buying a separate on camera monitor, and a lot of phone screens are larger than 5" monitors! It does anamorphic desqueeze and you can load in Luts.
ОтветитьWhat are you using for your kitchen setup? Great quality on products and yout videos always
ОтветитьOne stupid question. Can you take photo and de-squeeze the raw image in lightroom ? Not just incase of this lense, but with any Anamorphic lense?
ОтветитьWould really love to hear your thoughts on the Sigma FP. I am on the fence between the s1h and the Sigma Fp.
ОтветитьOh shit.
Perfect lenses.
Perfect shirt.
Perfect price.
Nikon Z and ... Leica mount?!!
... could it be :O
First off, big fan of your channel, you inspired me to try anamorphic shooting and I'm loving it so far!
Do you have a video about editing anamorphic footage after it's been desqueezed (1.6x) in Premiere Pro?
I'm new to anamorphic shooting and my editing workflow, such as adding transitions and digital zooms, are a pain because of the manually adjusted heights and widths of the footage, I've ried using adjustment layers but even those have their limitations. Hope to hear back from you soon!
There is EF mount on this lens please?
ОтветитьI own the 50mm & 75mm lenses for E-Mount if you would like to borrow them!
ОтветитьThank you for a great review!
ОтветитьHi Tito, great video. I have the Sirui 50mm T2.9 and thinking of just getting the 2x adapter instead of getting the 35mm. What do u think?
Ответитьthe video quality is 🔥
ОтветитьDoes this lens offer a constant squeeze ratio ? Thanks
ОтветитьAS soon as you add nd vr nd filter boom soft image. Or just two square nd's in stack lol
ОтветитьPanavision is still the best for customization for large format coverage, lens flares are Bokeh and distortion. C series can’t be replicated, like having a vintage wine.
ОтветитьDo you have some favorite diopters that you could recommend? =)
ОтветитьIn your 50mm review your reference how the Squeeze factor changes from 1.6 to 1.51 as you get to closer to 0.75 meters. That information was highly helpful. You didn't mention this information on the 35mm and 100mm. I would really love to know the numbers for the 75, 35, and 100mm -- if the squeeze factor changes with them?
ОтветитьC‘mon Sirui, please give us these with PL 😅 I’m so sad I can’t use these outside of renting a stills mount camera package for them. These belong on an Alexa.
Ответить@Anamorphic on a Budget this is a much needed review as there are not many out there, so thanks for making it this was a really helpful and informative review ( I never would’ve thought these would have pincushion distortion)
ОтветитьHi Titto I adore your content. Also watch every video.
I have an issue with my equipment. Currently use Caden diopter, Isco red star and Helios 40 and lumix s5. I believe I suffer from astigmatism because I can only focus an img with f4 minimum. Tested with other lenses such as Jupiter 9, Nikon Nikon 18d, and smc takumar 50 8. All these lenses do not suffer img quality loss but only Helios 40. Is the diameter of taking lens too wide or anamorphic lens or can it be Helios can not focus to infinity?
Any advice? Thank you very much.
What happens if I shoot 4K/422/16:9 in my S1H with this FF lens? I know open gate is better but I really don't want to shoot in 6K/420. And do you think I better get the S35 lens to shoot in 4k/422 ?
ОтветитьThanks Tito 🔥 I would have loved to see some footage from the 1.25x adapter paired with some spherical lenses
ОтветитьThe strange EF is better than nothing, but it kills the advantages of using full frame lenses on crop cameras. Same with the great joy.
ОтветитьDo you have any info about new Sirui set coming out in 2023 with 2x squeeze natively? I think I will wait for this instead of buying these 1.6x. Anyway, great video, as always!😉
ОтветитьDo you think this technically possible to swap the mount, for example from L-Mount to RF-Mount on theses lenses ?
ОтветитьA really great set and a great review!
ОтветитьGreat video as always Tito! have you got any videos on using matte-box diopters? I've seen some specifically from lindseyoptics that seem like they could be good, but am unsure if you have to keep the lens [x] distance from the diopter or any other drawbacks.
ОтветитьThese are pretty cool, I think I will be saving for the new Atlas Mercury lenses though. Similar squeeze and coverage, but with faster apertures and PL mount.
ОтветитьI just received a Sirui 50mm today, Tito this is perfect timing. And thanks for everything you do!
ОтветитьAre these constant squeeze or not? Recall that they were not. May wait for the GreatJoy 35mm with a 1.8 constant squeeze.
Ответитьwaiting to greatjoy complete set. seems it has more character, is more "flmic", i like it better.
ОтветитьSirui is absolutely SMOKING the budget anamorphic lens game right now!
I shoot pretty much all my content with Sirui lenses!
Thank you for this video.
The King of Anamorphic hath spoken!
