Umm this isn't right. I lived thru the 90s. Once NES and Super NES came there was also Sega Genesis. Atari was nowhere to be found. After the SNES came out i never seen Atari in any stores. It was pretty much gone.

(Unless it was still selling in 3rd world countries)

It's pretty interesting to see how many consoles only start selling really well at the end of what what one might consider to be their lifespans (as in the next generation of consoles were close to being or already released).

Where is the Amiga CD32 console? It outsold the SEGA Megadrive in its first weeks. If Commodore didn't go bankrupt in 1994. It would be a massive hit.

You made a mistake: The sega MASTER SYSTEM is still sold today (at least in Brazil.) Not the Mega Drive.
