ОтветитьI love Gaelic.🥲 I’m currently trying to learn Scottish Gaelic on Duolingo. Might try another app as well. Outlander sparked my love for Scotland. I am from America. I don’t know what my exact ancestry is, but I know I am at least partially Scottish and Irish. I wish I was Born in Scotland though. 😂 I love their accents. So yeah, I’m trying to learn Scottish Gaelic and also Irish eventually. And I wanna learn how to make traditional meals from there (well, vegan adaptations anyways) and I wanna get to the point where I can read in those languages fluently so I can read old Gaelic and Irish books.🥹 And be able to sing in those languages.☺️
As an American, it’s kinda sad because we are the “muts” of the world, so to speak. We’re so ethnically mixed and our country’s history doesn’t go as far back, so I feel like culturally, we are not as interesting and I feel like I have nothing to be proud of from my “culture”.
Hey Person with Scottish heritage here, I am currently relearning Scottish Gaelic 🤩
ОтветитьI'm studying Gàidhlig now.. Anclas Camelon
ОтветитьTha cho math òran ann an Gàidhlig a chluinntinn! An b'urrainn dhuibh barrachd òrain ann am bhidiothan eile a chur? Bu toil le a h-uile duine a tha Gàidhlig aige sin! Mòran taing airson na bhidio seo, cùmaibh an tighinn! Gum beannaicheadh Dia thu!
ОтветитьThis is my favorite song
ОтветитьMy freckles make me thirtsy 😙
ОтветитьTha mi fileanta sa Ghàidhlig oir chaidh mo thogail ann an Eilean Bharraigh tha e math a bhith faicinn a h-uile duine cho dèidheil air a cumail beò
ОтветитьSounds like language, that fairies speak🧚🧚🧚🧚🧚🧚. Greetings from Russia
ОтветитьGaelic is a wonderful language! It should be preserved! I do not understand it, but it sounds beautiful to my ears and it gladdens my heart!
Love from Dresden! ❤😎
I'm Dutch and strictly following Gaelic Duolingo classes because it's just too beautiful to let it die 🧡
ОтветитьKodamo paro moroś❤
ОтветитьWhat I love about this music is how it speaks to peoples souls and brings so many people together. Honestly just scrolling through these comments and seen how many other people enjoy music like this has brightened my day, I love all of you :0) <3
Ответитьfor a waulkin song, starts a wee bit too rapid. Hebridean women fulling started slow and as the cloth became more manageable they sped up. If it was the case with this they would be fair panting and out of breath, deed lol.
ОтветитьI'm distantly Scottish, mostly African from America and this is actually a beautiful song.
ОтветитьFor a language to survive, it is essential to have MONOlingual speakers. If they are good in several languages, in a conversation with e.g. an English speaker they will subconsciously switch to his/her language. That is why stubborn MONOlingual Scottish Gaelic speakers (are there any left?) must be supported by all means. Dear Scots, you need to have a country for your own to which you might - if necessary - have the authority to close its border to England. And in my personal opinion that independent Alba should NOT be part of the European Union.
ОтветитьIt's the same for Britton people, I'm 55 and realizing my culture was taken from me.
ОтветитьIm studying Irish gaelic but as Scottish is also dying, ill look for it studies on duolingo, greetings from a native Portuguese speaker
ОтветитьNow we have to listen to a Pakistani declared First Minister in URDU !
National sell out by treacherous SNP
Tha mi ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig agus tha i cho sporsail
ОтветитьFor some reason Gaelic and Scotland call to me and I am more Puerto Rican than Scottish but the soul wants to know it's ancestors. Slainche!
ОтветитьAfter the '45 rebellion, Gaelic language was banned, children were not allowed to speak it in class or they would be punished. Much as the Native American and Canadian indigenous people this is the template for destroying a culture. My grandfather was the last of our line to speak the language.
ОтветитьMum sent me to summer school Erin go I realized this is Welsh learn ye language is important sence they want it to die out
ОтветитьEvery Scottish person oot there reading this please learn Gaelic and keep oor language alive!! Taphadh leat!!
ОтветитьFuck the crown 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

ОтветитьI'm half scottish, I know very little of scotland and my mother migrated to England when she was very young, I didn't get to know my grandparents on her side they died before I could form a sentence and yet somehow this music.. it speaks to me, warms my soul. It calls me to explore scotland and shine light on the dark side of my heritage.
