Updates to the Advertiser Friendly Guidelines: EXPLAINED!

Is there anything in the works to allow creators to edit areas that were flagged automatically to mute / bleep the any of the "excessive or persistent" profanity sections out.
I don't generally swear but my guests do.

Hello, I want to start a gaming channel, I want to make walkthrough of different games and don't want to show my face and make voice over in it. Can I receive ad revenue? What important things I have to keep in mind to never get ineligible for it? All type of tips and suggestions are welcome.

Would love some feedback with regard to gore or "violence" in wildlife videos. Often some of my videos get demonetized due to this, however, this is just nature. Animals need to eat. Is there a way to avoid getting demonetized? A warning on the video or something like that?

I see A lot of people respondin, so if someone can please respond to this question. If the language is bleeped out within the first 8-15 seconds is that still considered as inappropriate language ? What is considered most of the video? I have some videos that are monetized with no cursing all the way up until 4 minute mark that has limited ads, but also other videos with the same exact cursing that is monetized. It's not very consistent at all.

Now that this update is out, It has to be the absolute worst thing to ever possibly happen. I hold out hope that you guys can fix this as it's going to completely ruin most gaming channels at this rate.

Why did it take me searching for this video manually to hear about something that would be potentially affecting thousands of creators? Why wasn't this blasted everywhere, put on the front page or pushed as a notification in YT Studio?

And why is it all so vague?

It's hilarious to me that an official Creator Update video doesn't have sound at a reasonable level and looks like it was shot by someone who just started filming videos. Don't get me wrong, my earlier videos looked WAY worse than this, but if this is to be taken seriously, at least make a video with better quality than most other creators. 😂

I wish you would timestamp what the issues are in the video like you do with music copyrighted so we can work on what is the problem you are havin' with our content. many of the times we do not see anythang wrong with the video and that is why we posted it. If there is an issue we would like to know exactly what needs to be done so that we correct it.

I teach stunt work and fight choreography. I have youth students who make videos with me for our channel. they are all safe, and I am a professional instructor. are those videos going to get flagged?

there needs to be a section for people who create short films, web series and movies that may contain some of what you mentioned. It's hard to categorize these at the present time

It seems strange to me that an advertiser would worry about any of these things, as long as they aren't sponsoring that specific video. As creators it's hard to make sure we stay in bounds sometimes.

Feature request: the ability to differentiate between shorts views and video views within the 'realtime' 48 hours view count. This would be immensely helpful as we need to track both separately.

This is amazing. Quick question for creators who make shorts. Say we have a sound that lots of people use and some of their videos go viral. Is there a way to credit the original creators sound other than on Shorts feed? I feel this would help creators get more exposure when their shorts sounds may contribute to viral videos.
