Accutane. It works. You won’t break out. Laser treatment I have read works too. Stay away from hot weather and humid weather. Put on the air conditioner as hot weather makes it worse. I notice I perspire a lot from my forehead in the summer and my face is super oily and I perspire, driving me crazy I can’t take it. I’m considering in the future to take the laser treatment that shrinks perspiration and oil ducts at hairline

I have tried so many over-the-counter topical products, and nothing works. OXY clear pads Keep your skin clean but that’s it. You have to be on Accutane. End of story

Agreed on filler but Is there any suction machine that sucks out that excess oil and dirt from your pores?

This is fascinating. I suffer from chronic HSV1 and it leaves terrible scars on my face without antivirals. It presents atypically and many dermatologists mistake it for acne. The lesions leave box scars, the same typically left by chickenpox, which are in the same family of viruses. Now I at least have some options to try to heal the wounds after the lesion heals. Doctors do not take me seriously about how severe my case is without medication (the scars are usually the diameter of pencil erasers.)

Just pick a small area. Then use a cheap St. Ives facial scrub until it bleeds. Let it scab over and let fall off by itself in a week or two You will have flat new skin.

8- punch excision (quite scary)
9- fillers, permanent or temporary
10- tca cross = effective inexpensive
No approach fits all.

I have all these all over my cheeks and I was on accutane, I don't get it and neither does my dermatologist. I never picked or popped a pimple and I was using accutane for cystic acne so it was being treated!!! I don't get how I got so many fucking scars, specially boxscar scars!! And yeah I have a lot of ice pick scars, those are all over, it looks like my pores lol

I thought acutane only target active acne 🤔 didn’t know that it can treat pitted scars, could you explain how?

I wish I never had blackheads, would of never picked my skin. Now have shallow scars and I really should go and get micro needling. I don’t want to do it myself so will go to a dermatologist to do it.

For Icepick Scars, TCA CROSS or Excision helps…. For Rolling Scars, SUBCISION is the best treatment or perhaps Bellafill ….

I cannot stress enough how life changing Accutane was. I had really bad, painful cystic acne all over my face, chest, and back and aside for some topical acne I get around my period, I haven’t had cystic acne since then and have had mostly clear skin with minimal effort.

I have a boxcar scar, I got it 10-11 months ago.

2 days ago, I applied ice to the area and now it hurts so bad. It’s so irritated and even touching it hurts.

I have vaseline on it. Bc I don’t know what else to do. The area is hot and red.

My scar was healing fine and didn’t hurt for the past 6-7 months til now.

I don’t know what to do to ease the pain and make it less irritated

Keep sunscreen away from the eye area. If it gets into the eyes wash it out immediately.

Accutane literally saved my life. My cystic acne was so bad I was suicidal. It was new on the market in the 80s when I took it, and the side effects were not yet fully known. I didn’t care. I took the maximum dose for the maximum time allowed at the time. The only side effect I had was temporary dry skin. I’d take it again in a heartbeat if I had to.

I dont have the privacy to watch the whole video but when she mentioned retinoids did she say that they can help with boxcar and icepicks? or she recommended against it.

A dermatologist took a small red dot on my cheek off with a scalpel- after assuring me it wouldn't leave a depression and make it look worse- but now Im stuck with a big hole in the middle of my face and I've tried everything to fix it, short of lasers. Chemical peels (TCA, Glycolic acids, Salicylic Acids, Jessners with TCA using the toothpick method inside the hole to regrow collagen),strong copper cream, Tretinoin, collagen peptides.... I've even considered getting the spot burned by Co2..Im just scared it will end up WORSE 😢
