i got nothing against FE, i love EVs and E. Engines but goddamn that shit looks slow and boring-

And F1 this year is way faster than last years cars!

As far as racing goes (though I think this also applies more generally) hybrid technology is far superior to purely electric vehicles. I'd love to see a series that would let teams compete to develop racing EVs

FE lacks a lot of grip because of the grooved tyres and the lack of downforce. FE cars are heavier in quali since they have to carry all the battery even if it's full or not. Fe cars weigh around 848kg's while F1 cars weigh only 810 kg's (may differ) in quali. On race pace F1 cars weigh more than FE cars when you add fuel, FE cars weigh the same since electricity does not weigh.

It would be interesting to see a comparation also with F2 and F3 after the Monaco Gp 2023 with the all 4 categories

The main problem of FE is the tyre.
Your street legal tyres could actually have better lap time than the FE tyres...

Would be cool to see the difference between gen 2 and gen 3. The gen 2 having more grip than gen 3 would make for an interesting video.

FE cars are probably heavier then F1 cars but mostly it's the grip on track that already is a few seconds loss on that lap. Back in the days the grooved tires were introduced in F1 to slow the cars down because they were going faster then was comfortable for the FiA, the grooved tires ate up seconds of time.
Also the FE's tire compound is a lot harder then F1, just look at normal streetcars they also have way harder tires.

Further, you are definetly missing some horses under the hood, the tech simply isn't ready for that yet.

But 6-7 seconds slower is really nothing to be ashamed of, my turd on 4 wheels won't go that fast even if I tried.

Duh! Video deliberately fails to state that It depends as much on the abilities and talent of the drivers as it does on the car itself. In both Formula E and Formula One the victors pass the chequered flag 30-60+ seconds ahead of the last-to-finish.

Where did you find the onboard lap for the Formula E car? I can't seem to find any Gen 3 laps

E racing is like watching your favorite band at very low volume, you still love their music but it will never evoke the same emotional connection. I still love high speed competition but where's the "HOOK" where's the soundtrack,where did my goosebumps go. I miss the symphony of 20k rpm.

Formula E cars are going to evolve, i think in less than 10 years Formula E cars will be faster than Formula 1 cars. Especially the accelleration will be way faster.

Formula E is amazing! Series is 9 seasons old and they got car what produce 50% of energy while they drive and they got car what has no hydraulic rear brakes (only emergency rear brakes). When Formula E Lost second there and second there compare F1 You don't see that on eye. Infact much smaller FE looks much faster on TV than SUV size F1 cars.

I see F E totally unnecessary since they already destroyed F1 removing the high reving NA engines by adding turbos, electric motors... And a lot more weight. Still dont understand WHY.

youd think instant torque would mean better acceleration for formula E, but that car is over 40kg heavier than F1 and doesnt have slicks
