Saying this has more reliability than the Moccamaster is kinda silly. People have their Moccamaster for decades. They overbuilt and simple and that’s why people like them.
ОтветитьCan you update me on your morning coffee? It's been four years. Would you still recommend it?
ОтветитьMy new Breville Precision machine was just dropped off at my house 2.6.2024. I don't get the accessories until tomorrow. That will give me time to check out the machine and have it ready to use tomorrow. I never thought I would ever spend this much money for a coffee brewer. My wife thought I was crazy at first and said NO. I told her as much as I love and drink coffee, I deserved the best. She later gave the green light. She even came into the den as ask how much did she need to give me toward the purchase. I smiled and told her nothing. Chef Jerry Irmo South Carolina USA
ОтветитьWhich commercial brewer would be the next step up from this unit?
ОтветитьOwn one. Only "disappointment" is due to the large squat and large opening feature, the carafe does not keep coffee acceptably hot mor than 30 min or so. So it's a trade off. Easy to clean or keep it hot. had the same issue with a Bunn thermal. Easy to clean, did not stay hot. Mine is a few years old now (2018 IIRC) so, I am unsure if Breville has improved the seals and insulation to be able to keep coffee hotter longer. An otherwise outstanding machine which I like better than the Moccamaster thermal I had or even a little better than the OXO Barista Brain 9 cup I still have.
ОтветитьDO NOT BUY THIS UTTER PIECE OF JUNK.POOR DESIGN IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY.
ОтветитьAutostart is so great. I don't think I'd get a machine without it. Without autostart I just end up quickly making a cup of tea or instant and not having caffeine.
ОтветитьHad this coffee maker precision brewer. The only caveat..small amount of water sits on the water chamber after completely brewing coffee, which can collect bacteria
ОтветитьI really want to know what James’ settings on this are
ОтветитьI love this machine ❤ however there is one huge problem you did not mention. The single brew option is genius, but unfortunately it makes a huge mess with coffee all over. And sometimes the brewer vibrates strongly so a cop can be misplaced and if you don’t notice it there will be coffee everywhere. But besides that a great coffee machine
Ответитьjust got one of these for christmas, finding out that it made our coffee that much better I have since dove head first into the rabbit hole that is better tasting coffee. oh boy im in love
ОтветитьKeeping an eye on the clock on the machine throughout the video rose far more questions than it answered about what the chronological order of the raw footage must be.
ОтветитьThe reviews on the Breville site are not very encouraging.
ОтветитьI have a question. I don't like the taste of coffee which has been overheated in the glass carafe. Therefore I am in favour of using a thermal container but does it not modify the flavour of the coffee by being in contact with stainless steel?
ОтветитьI just added to my cart , I have never had good coffee ☕️, excited to do this process
ОтветитьYour hair is magnificent.
ОтветитьJames, excellent video. Have you done a video on what grind you use/recommended for this type of machine.
ОтветитьI have owned this machine for almost 4 years now, largely in part to James' review. It has served us well for most of this time, but have slowly realized the coffee has not been coming out hot. I think this happened so gradually we didn't notice, and it usually our first cup of coffee in the morning where we are too busy tending to the kids to notice what our coffee tastes like. Nonetheless, this machine is not serviceable and it seems this is a fairly known issue. I'm getting coffee in the cup at 125F/ 52C which is just awful. So, sadly I imagine this machine is going to find itself in a landfill. And for what it's worth, we haven't used many of those features like auto-start, etc - so we will try a Technivorn from here and hope that serves us better (and for longer)
ОтветитьWe bought one of these about a year ago, and love it so much! I was looking at the amazon page, seeking the best paper filters, and one of the reviews there mentioned this review, so I came to see what you had to say. You have confirmed my happiness with this coffee maker!! I initially bought this because we love all of our Breville products so much, and this did not disappoint. Your review is fantastic, although perhaps I love it so because of my own confirmation bias being fed here. :-) Thank you!
ОтветитьBonaVita now has a removable water reservoir. Hope you review their new machine.
ОтветитьI would NOT appreciate the water reservoir with the measurements in mls eitither, and have not seen many US appliances with that feature. That is another point for the Removable Water Reservoir on the Bonavita Enthusiast, (both too expensive in Canada).
ОтветитьIn my early coffee-snob days I subscribed to Gevalia coffee. They did a promo with a darling 2-4 cup Melitta machine. It’s still in the basement, and the air-tight Gevalia canister sits on the coffee shelf inn the kitchen. Now, after the hunger years of pre-ground dark roast or even Blue Ribbon at really low points, I await my Flair so I can open it with the Varia that will be under the tree (Santa tells me.)
ОтветитьIs it normal for the motor be pretty loud😅? (Compared to for example moccamaster?)
ОтветитьCan you put a mug under it rather than the caraff ?
I wish they made a one or two mug smaller brewer
Needless irritating music at start
ОтветитьThanks so much!
ОтветитьI love these videos because you are so much normal despite beeing an expert
ОтветитьWhat settings do you have yours set to on “my brew”
ОтветитьThanks for the review. I'm trying to decide between this, the Oxo, and the Moccamaster
ОтветитьI copped because of this video. Unboxing now. Thank you
Ответитьas soon as you said auto start I was sold
ОтветитьHas anyone had issues with water collecting in the lid? If so, what was your recommended fix for this?
ОтветитьI hope to not offend any of you across the pond, but wouldn’t imperial technically be better for coffee simply because our measurements are more exact. For example, for the majority of the world it’s 0 to 100, but we’ve got 32 to 212 or whatever. Wouldn’t that be more exact because there are more number between freezing and boiling?
ОтветитьJust a heads up. I've purchased two of these units (in Canada) and both cannot brew a GOLD cup. When the brewing starts it totally skips the Bloom phase. I received the second unit as a replacement for the first and neither work. I think I'll be returning mine. It's also worth noting that the Precision Brewer has been REMOVED from the Specialty Coffee Association's list of certified home brewers. I've reached out to ask why but haven't heard back yet – based on my experience, I suspect performance failures like I'm experiencing. Very sad but time for a new brewer!
ОтветитьA new video explaining how to use My Brew settings with different roasts would be great!
ОтветитьI purchased this 4 months ago (US). Sadly it is not up to expectations. Brew temps max out at 154 are regular. With a large batch brew, over 4 cups using the flat basket, the grounds overflow the filter and end up in the brew. 2 days ago the screen went blank and I’m trying to get a hold of Breville now for support. Not to worry my V60 is as reliable as the sun and the moon. Hope I just got a bum machine, it was quite expensive and I was quite excited about it.
ОтветитьI love the poster in the background , just wondering where you got it from 😊
ОтветитьI luv to make espresso. It’s an art, that takes some thought to do well. When making just a pot of joe, I don’t like to put too much thought into it. I just want to push a button and let it rip! The resulting coffee will taste exactly the same regardless of your machine. A $39 Mr Coffee will do exactly the same thing as the coffeemaker you are “reviewing “ in this. Maybe a review should include a mention of the quality of components and finish or maybe a guess as to how long this unit should last! You keep saying you like this brewer but then continue to bitch about it! This is an opinion piece and not a proper review
ОтветитьConsidering this machine; however, if the water tank was removable, it would be a slam dunk. I had the Breville Grind Control, but I hated the clean-up of the disc after every cup (rarely used the carafe). Besides, the ex-wife got it in the divorce—won’t get another one. But this one is definitely a possibility. My luck, as soon as I buy it, Breville will introduce one with a removable tank…which is why I’m dragging my feet. I would LOVE to wake up to fresh coffee. Holding off a bit longer.
ОтветитьIt’s exactly what I needed to get my day started as I remodel my house
ОтветитьI’m a coffee newbie. But what I do know is I love pour over more than drip. Unfortunately my schedule and on the go demand is having me look into more automated ways to do a pour over. Will this be similar to a pour over or more similar to the flavor of a drip? Sorry I’m advance for not knowing the coffee jargon.
ОтветитьI really want to get this but also tempted by competitors with integrated grinders E.g. Melitta aromafresh. Like the convenience of just pressing one button and it grinding and brewing my coffee. Is it much extra cost and effort to grind seperately? I like the idea of the cold brew option with this
ОтветитьHaha this machine its not work the money.
Ответитьso why the heck should i spend 300$ on something i have to clean daily. ridiculous.
ОтветитьDo you still use this machine? Or have you changed it up!?
ОтветитьJames, I got one of these as a gift. I am struggling with the ideal grind size, dosage , best temperature etc. to get a decent cup of coffee. Can you share what ration and grind size you use? My 5 yr old Breville Pro espresso machine broke, so I am trying to live with this, and.... is just not the same? I am sure I am doing something wrong! Thanks!
ОтветитьI'm at another point where I have to replace our drip coffee maker. I'm a genuine Breville nut and own almost every other Breville appliance ever made. Unfortunately, I purchased the original version of this unit made for the US market when it came out and found that no matter the setting, the maximum temperature of the brewing water was only around 180 or so degrees F. I complained to Breville and never got anywhere and I ended up giving it away as the unit only made lukewarm weak tasting coffee. Should I buy this and give it another try or should I try something else?
ОтветитьMy drip coffee maker cost me $10, brand new at Walmart. My coffee is great.
ОтветитьHow about a review of the Breville Aroma Style Electronic Drip Coffee Maker? Is it any better than the super cheap drip makers?
ОтветитьMy brother has it. Great machine. I just ordered a Moccamaster bc prime day was only $220USD. If they were both on sale I may have gotten the breville bc of the programs but I hear such great things about the Mocca. Hope I don’t miss that morning auto brew on my old cheapo. Only used once or twice per year.
