Pretty irresponsible for Scotty to purport hybrids and turbo 4 cylinder SUV's as best in class.
Of course suckers will buy them and pay dearly owning them out of warranty.
The Honda Pilot with tried and true NA V6 and the base NA 2.5L 4 cyl. Rav 4 are the only two worth buying if owning them long term and out of warranty because they don't have a redundant hybrid system with degrading battery or a turbo which will go out like clockwork between 100-200K miles.

PS. the new Mazda with turbo V6 and hybrid motor integrated into a non torque converter auto trans is the biggest joke of all. Mazda performing its beta testing on its customers and introducing copious complexity which will cost its customers dearly.
A tip from an automotive engineer. The more complex a vehicle is, the more it will fail with an even playing field of part quality. Statistics 101. The reason why auto makers are making vehicles 3 x's more complex than 15 years ago is because of PROFIT, in pursuit of the customer buying it 'twice' to replace countless parts that fail. The fleecing of dumb America.

TO ME-- the CX-90 is TOO BIG- and rounded off so much it's UGLY- it just looks FAT.. and yes it has more power-- and that is good-- but the rest ain't so good.

NOBODY NEEDS a 3rd row seating... if they have that big a crew to haul- they need a freakin MINI-VAN...

My '13 RAV4 Limited just passed 190k. It's not as modern looking or as quick as my friend's CX-5, but I'll take reliability over appearances. My Dad has a Highlander Limited and my Mom has the Lexus RX-350. They're all super reliable.

What would you all recommend because i see from the comments here that the 24 RAV4 hybrid is obsolete, and the 2024 CR-V Hybrid is a POS. I had my heart set on one of those cars, but given what ive read...yeesh.

Anything honda should never make the list. Cvt trans sucks. After 100k miles it doesn't take long and you're buying a new trans. Honda used to have a really nice 5 speed trans. This cvt crap sucks

So far I'm happy with my 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness!

I'm still partial to the Mazda CX5. I own a 2020 Signature. I test drove everything and it easily stood out. I worry about the hybrid battery costs if the powertrain fails after most 60,000 mile warranty and those CVT's. Around $3000-$7000 for a new battery makes me cringe. I guess too each their own. The CX5 does everything well. Sticking with it.

Aside from sorely overlooking Subarus, you also forgot the 2023 Toyota Venza—some call it a Camry SUV, and others say it should’ve been a Lexus—a hidden gem.

Scotty, you should’ve had the Subaru Forester in your list! It’s not the most powerful or trendy, but it’s emblematic of great reliability, outstanding AWD, and consistent IHHS safety plus ratings. Subarus shouldn’t be undermined.

I will buy the Lexus for myself and RAV4 for my employees 😂

I really dont like these 4-banger turbo engines. If that turbo goes out, that’ll be a huge repair bill. Not to mention, wouldnt the turbos shorten the engine life?
