The difference in the words "expand" and not "explain" makes the whole scene... that happens when a real boss looks for resolutions and not blame

The angry boss patiently and quietly allows Shelby to give his side of the story, without interrupting. Probably the most unrealistic scene from anything ever.

What I love about this movie is the irony. Ford felt like they were the heroes of this movie, when in fact Shelby was the hero of this movie and Ford was playing the foil at every turn. I've never seen a company being so proud about being made to look so bad.

This is how a builder of a mechanic speaks to a person in charge! Plane and simple... The builder knows he can always build and create for himself and doesn't need anyone in charge over him... Beautifully scripted AND great acting in this scene.
