I'm so sorry to report, but for me, this recipe came out so dense, and it tasted very strongly of egg since it calls for 5. I followed the directions to a T. I have a recipe that I've been using for years, but wanted to try something different. I appreciate your recipe though, but just wanted to report my experience.

ОтветитьI made this cake and followed the video instructions I used 2 8 in instead of 6 and both cakes seemed dense. I did not over mix. I actually followed along with the video mixing times and I also sifted the flour. I did have to substitute baking soda for the cake flour, which is a hack she suggested in another video. I gave the cake to others and they said it was good. It was too heavy for me, but if you’re looking for a sturdier cake then this is a good recipe.

ОтветитьAs a bakery, can I assume you mix large quantities of this recipe in a commercial mixer? If so, how do you ensure it doesn't get over mixed while alternating flour and milk? This is something I sometimes have trouble with since there are limited speed settings. Bless you for sharing, and I can't wait to try it!❤

ОтветитьHi! I made two 6 inch cake layers. They were delicious! I do have a question: the baked layers were a little brown on top but the sides were pale and not golden like the top or like your pictures on the video. I did use wet (not dripping), Wilton cake strips, and tested them and they were fully baked. How do I correct this so the colors are golden on top and on the sides?
