I agree jackets are not needed in Jamaica for people that live in colder climates like north east USA or Europe but it doesn’t hurt to bring a LIGHT synthetic rain jacket for when it pours . Trust me you gonna need it .. other than that I have seen Jamaicans wearing jackets on the hottest day and I can’t understand how the do it!! I guess everyone is different

Interesting how you portray Jamaica as a great place to go to. Have just been to Jamaica and can guarantee most people will try to scam you. Racism / homophobia / sexism / misogyny are rampant. Most locals see tourists as walking ATM machines and it's hard to form any kind of human connection that is not transaction-based. Interesting you don't mention most roads in Jamaica are a collection of potholes, with some reverting to pure dirt roads (main roads towards the east of the country), making driving around extremely unpleasant and dangerous.

I have a question I was wondering is Jamaica post reliable to use ? To send abroad to Europe from Jamaica

I'm Jamaican. I handle the cataloging with a funny comment or something witty and they appreciate it. Like when they say "mi like yuh inno", and I say "yes...if I were you I'd like me too"...or like the time I told someone u already had 4 husbands. He asked to be #5 and we had a good laugh. I also told another man, I'd use him and hurt him...he begged me to use him but leave him with a bus fare at least. 😂

After having Jamaica be a destination on my travel list, since I was 15 years old, I finally get to go to the country on January 31st! I am beyond excited

Portland: the roads are the worst so do not try to drive there; they are all under repair and quite hellish. Boston Beach jerk was fantastic but very expensive since the merchants have to make up for the loss of business caused by the awful roads. You may want to get your jerk elsewhere. (11/22)

I just came back from Jamaica 11/22 and this was my experience: 1) Calling your American bank before you leave is not necessary, at least not Bank of America; (2) I got some pocket money (~$50 USD) at the ATM at Manley airport and the fee was minor: (3) bring your own shopping bag to supermarket.

I’m traveling to Jamaica this Monday June 27. This is the best information thus far. So as far as cash USD $200 the maximum? We are going to be in an airbnb within an resort. I’m just concerned how much cash to bring and the type of bills.

The sexual harassment drives me bananas. Every three minutes someone is staring you down. I found some nice bikinis with a picture of a hairy man's body. I highly suggest you wear these as a woman when you visit if you hope to get any peace at all.
