How do I change the icons to a list on icloud drive?

Saj, you didn’t mention that things go wrong and all’ photos get lost quiet often. So having a physical backup is needed. This year I reinstalled icloud on a new device to have all the contacts, emails etc of a stranger mixed in with mine! Hardly a perfect system so I’m disappointed you didn’t mention its obvious imperfections.

Yesterday I purchased the 2TB storage $9.99 I go back to my account online it says I only have the 1GB free space how long does it take for that go through, or what else do I need to do to get that storage active. Help, please, with a problem. I have 5GB of memory on my iCould. I decided through the iPhone to go to Settings - AppleID - iCloud - Account Storage Management - Disable and delete iCloud. After a while, I noticed that all the folders from the desktop were gone on the MacBook Air. There were files that were well over 5 GB. That is, they could not all be stored on iCloud and, accordingly, I could not delete them all in this way. Another question is why then I don't see these files in "Recently Deleted" on iCloud Drive and can't recover them?

Have had iCloud for years and finally now know how to use it to the Max..Thanks a million..excellent 👍

Thank you, but there is one thing I am unable to understand. I know that when I use a web browser to put files into the iCloud folders designated by Apple, like GarageBand, Keynote, Pages (etc) that those files will take up space on my computer hard drive as they are shared folders. But I can not figure out how to store files in iCloud that does not reduce the free space on my iMac hard drive. I make personal folders for music files, or iMovie files that I just want to exist in iCloud and visible only with a web browser logged in to iCloud, but the size of the files I put there is taken away from my iMac hard drive ... Even though I do not those files anywhere on my internal drive.

I am pretty sure that right from the start you are explaining it wrong. You say that I can store on iCloud and NOT on my local phone storage. But it stores everything BOTH places. So you if you have an iPhone 256GB, an iPad 256GB & a MacMini 500GB you will need 1TB of iCloud so that you have a backup just in case you lose or break any of your devices. Misinformation from the first sentence. 😢

Great video. I have apple 200 Gb iCloud, but Google wants tells me I am out of storage with them and they want me to pay them too! I don’t want to pay both services. What should I do?😅

Just a very basic storage server, over rated. All the cloud based system work the same. BUT APPLE MAKES SURE YOU HAVE TO BUY/PAY FOR MUSIC SERVICES. Even if you own all your music, and don't want to pay for Apple Music, you still need to spend 11. buck amonth to access your music in the cloud. RIP OFF, WaJ. Get home based server/ssd/ storage system and by pass this waste of money.

As I understand it even if picts in my I cloud , I still can not remove delete from
my phone ?

What I don’t understand is if you are on your MacBook and toggle photos off under iCloud does that stop the backup from your iPhone? Or are they independent but sharing the same cloud?

You turn on and off iCloud for apps then all your data get deleted, has happened to me 3 times already. iCloud is not safe at all it delete your data.

I have a question. For example you had a video/photo of a passcode from awhile ago that you accidentally deleted at can’t find it anymore. Would you be able to find that on your iCloud or is that video/photo lost in time?

I'm unable to upload any videos to iCloud photos. It says it only files in JPEG format can be uploaded. But when I get to the empty page, it says no photos "or videos", implying that I can upload videos. Any idea on why it won't work?
