Will this work if it is the only simple queue on the router? My connection speed is unstable/variable, so I don't create other queues... but I still want to always ensure pings are prioritized before all other traffic even if I lose, say, 64kbps of bandwidth which is set guaranteed for ICMP..

Why not configured DSCP or ToS? Is the same? Thankyou
