ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium review: Best of BOTH worlds!

DO NOT buy one of these. They require you INSTALL SOFTWARE ON YOUR PHONE JUST TO SET THE DATE AND TIME ON YOUR THERMOSTAT!!!!!!! They really want your data and don't care that their product is worse because they're trying to strongarm you for it.

I assume it's got Google Assistant as well?

I already register my ecobee thermostat from first before, now have to reset my thermostat and asking for registration and did not give me a registration code cause was register before, how can get my register code before?

Just got this thing with TWO sensors on sale for $200 from Costco.

Can you set it so that if the temperature outside drops below a certain temperature, then it switches from the heat pump to Aux Heat?

Dose it use a third-party server I have a vine thermostat and it keeps loosing connection and when I call them they say things like your thermostat is to old and dose not connect to your router when the problem is on there end. I don't know why we need cameras and things to go through third-party servers I remember when everything just went through my router and it work just fine

Will all the settings from the previous thermostat transfer to the new thermostat - or do you have to reconfigure everything? (And by settings I mean more than Schedules… things like Minimum Run Times and Overcooling and HVAC system info)

Ecobee is awful... it's not worth the money. Had I known what a headache it would be, I would have not bought this house with it in it.. Don't waste your money

A bit too pricey

I had an ecobee 3rd gen and loved it, until they changed the interface. Now it takes multiple taps to simply adjust the temperature. Before, I could walk up and slide up a degree or three. I didn't like the auto-adjusting. It's a noticeable pain, though the rest of the interface is nicer.

4 is solid for some good toast

Some of the software feature changes (re-newed ui design for temp changes) have been ported to the older thermostat models as well, finally! I had the same experience as you with trying to change the temp - frustrating!

Bought the Enhanced instead. The premium cost for the Premium isn't really worth it. Siri on a thermostat? Spotify on a thermostat? A crappy and limited air quality sensor? No thanks.

Gr8 review, but it's not Matter compatable, which matters alot, (no pun intended). If the thermostat not tied 2 temperature sensors or geofence, then it's not a smart thermostat. Love yur vdo's. Thx 4 sharing in Utube.

Other than the aesthetic design of the premium, do you think it’s worth getting this one over the voice control version? I want to choose between the two but the additional $100 for the premium... just want to make sure it is worth it. In my case the voice control version came with 1 sensor for $150 and the premium is $250 with 2 sensors included.
Also would love to see a video overview of the ecobee iPhone app.

Stop with the radio guy voice, overwritten dialog and “comedy” bits and most importantly stop wasting our time

If you have a single gang electrical box all ecobees become a nightmare. I would love to stick with ecobee but having the single gang box and a large ugly cover plate is a no-no. Even worse is the fact that you have to create your own adapter plate to fasten it to the wall. Knowing this issue has existed for so long and no way to address it (i.e. include or even sell separately and adapter plate) makes this company still amateur hour. Funny how no online reviews ever address this.
