To answer the alt question:
Two mains (Night Elf warrior and Nightborne mage, both 70)
Two other 70's.
Eight 60-69's.
Four 50-59's.
And one 20.

Warbands are a huge win in general.

I'm really looking forward to this expansion, so far everything great.

Also, if you've never checked it out, I recommend looking up Taliesin and Evitel's videos on the Shadowlands cinematics, they make some very good points.

I look at the "domination of Arthas" this way:

Anduin tried to resist, but was unable to

Bolvar managed to resist

Arthas willingly surrendered to it

Just because he was being manipulated doesn't mean he wasn't a monster.

I have spent all of Dragonflight working on completing Stay Classy in a guild with just me and my roommate in it. I have 77 alts and 52 (at the time of writing this are capped). Warbands are literally going to change my life.

I think the Hero Talent “Tree” names can be improved upon, and more synonymous with actual hero classes that play into the fantasy.

FINALLY! i've met another WoW Player who doesnt ride Arthas' dick! he was a monster, even before touching Frostmourne and becoming The Lich King! he felt nothing for all those that he had slain, even his old mentor/friend. as much as people hate Sylvanas, SHE actually showed regret and remorse. now am i saying that she deserves redemption? i dont really know, she did a lot of questionable things as the Banshee Queen and as Warchief, but she is far more qualified to deserve redemption than Arthas. granted that he should've been sent to Revendreth to see if he COULD be redeemed, but Karma is a bitch like that.

based takes overall in fact, i am soooo looking forward to this SAGA they are doing, even if the Story ends up a "Da-snoozer", the Gameplay is gonna be solid AF! after Winter Veil and i get my main geared, i am gonna take a break until TWW comes out.

and just for the record, i hit the cap on alts, i'm an altaholic. XD and like Bubba J said "AA is for Quitters!"

also yes DKs can raise other DKs, Order Hall storyline has the MC raise 3 of them, so dont need Bitch King. lol

Is it just me or was Ian H. Acting different than he usually does. He normally is so flat and unenthusiastic. He seems like he’s trying to be more personable.
Also in ignoring Shadowlands, I see that they are. But you can’t ignore the damage to all the lore that Shadowlands did, that cannot be undone. There’s no out.

Tbh, I don't see the point of an Alt in FF14. I played every single expansion since 2015, and I have never created a 2nd character, and I still don't see any reason to.

In terms of the Arthas thing you bring up, for sure he deserved what happened to him. But, the scene itself was awful in how it was ONLY Sylvanas who had anything to say. Jaina and Uther said nothing before he disappeared, when they had a much deeper relationship with him. Was just Danauser's favourite who got redeemed and the final word that annoyed me. Sylvanas deserved the same fate.

Regarding people saying you dont need alts in ff14, that's just true if you do casual content. If you actually want to play multiple jobs at max item level you need to either be funneled by your groups or, play alts.

I'm glad they are keeping older content now, or letting people toggle things on and off. One of my pet peeves for WoW was how often they removed content, quests, story stuff and new players had no choice to do those quests anymore, missing story etc.

Blademaster should be a hero spec for warrior

Imagine just a few years ago Ion being allowed to admit longterm failures of stage. PR and corporate would've flayed him alive. Seems they've managed to force corpo and PR to f*** off after Shadowlands.

Sounds promising. Now promise me that I can take part in full main story without having to be a hardcore player, I might consider coming back.

...and yes, FFXIV does let you be every job on one character, mitigating the need for alts, actually EQUIPPING all those jobs aside your main is absolutely nightmarish.

Saurfang got done wrong, they should have at least did more for him in Shadowlands

I couldn't agree more about calling ff14 not alt friendly, as someone who plays both wow and ff14 they each have their own issues and neither is perfect by anymeans. FF14s strong point is you don't need new characters to engage in end game gameplay on a different job/class. Wows strong point is making new class/race combos and getting them to end game content takes substantially less time, where wows alt friendliness comes in is mainly if your a casual or like myself someone who loves to write stories and RP and don't wanna spend money for race changes. Being able to quickly get a character to max lvl in wow in under like 10 hours played vs if I realistically wanna play an alt in ff14 I am just better off spending money on fantasia which feels terrible.

I think "Fatebound" should be "Swashbuckler".

I understand your take on Arthas, but think about this. Arthas is the Warcraft version of Darth Vader. Arthas was pretty much the chosen one, fated to have great destiny. It was great, terrible, but still great. Darth Vader was also a mass murdering, homicidal, genocidal maniac. But Anakin and Arthas both had something in come. They were not born that way. they were tragic characters, that fell to the emotions and pride. Luke saved and redeemed Arthas. They could of done the same with Jaina... Jaina should have been in the death cinematic when King T was looking down at Arthas as he passed on. She might of made up her mind in halls of reflections, but she should of had a chance to grieve. And they could of wrote in a redemption through shadowlands.

It wouldn't of made up for all the bad, but it would of been closure for us the players. Hell it could of been Arthas being the one that gave Anduin those moments of freedom from the Domination. Maybe anduin thinks they are just moments for him to realize what he is doing on the jailor's behalf, but later on Arthas explains, that they moments of weakenss that he took advantage of to strengthen Anduin's mind for what was to come. The could of added him to the cinematic with Varian and Saurafang. Maybe even start it off with Arthas speaking to Andiun from the sword. "Let go Andiun. I will hold him off with what ever I have left. I can't he's too strong!" (then Varian and saurafang step in.)

George Lucas in Star Wars showed Blizzard how to do a great redemption arch. Most of Azeroth would continue to see Arthas as a monster, as the universe saw Darth Vader, but the ones that it really mattered, through Luke they knew that Anakin Skywalker died a Jedi. Arthas could of been utterly destroyed using the last of his anima to hold the Jailer back giving Andiun the moment he needed to break free. Azeroth would of known Arthas as the Lich King, but Andiun would of known that Arthas Menathil died a paladin.

Zovaal was the weak point of SL, but Sire Denathrius was awesome and is still out there with the nathrezim. I'm excited for their eventual return.

100% agree with your take on Arthas. He doesn't deserve any return or redemption, I'm glad that what little remained of his twisted soul was snuffed out unceremoniously in the Shadowlands. Anduin is carrying forward the tone and theme of his story.

Delves really sound a lot like Variant/Criterion dungeons with some changes.
