Can you do 75-90 manual transmission fluid?

Great test, thanks.
I’ve used Redline in a manual transmission which had some issues and the results for me were absolutely excellent- I couldn’t be any happier.
I know- It’s not cheap, but the results are great.

Appreciate you doing all these tests. A lot of us use Japanes vehicles though so maybe you can do a video on Japanese company fluids? Idemitsu, Aisin, and a few other Japanese companies make the ATF/Manual/CVT fluids for a lot of the Nissans, Toyotas, etc.

Nice. Since Redline and SuperTech led it would be interesting to have a 5th item with a 1:1 Redline & SuperTech mix. And a 6th thru 10th 1:1 mix with 15% of 4 shelf additives for transmissions.

The 2 most popular ATF is
1. Valvoline Max Life
2. Castrol TransMax

These 2 need to be tested.

Sometimes, it's good to confirm your own choices.
I just replaced the fluid in my 1996 F150 M50 5-speed. I bought it in 2004 with 80K miles, and even now it only has 150K. I'm no mechanic but I know a little and I think things through.
So, the manual transmission became very balky to get into 1st gear at a stop. Often going to 2nd and back to first would make it easier. Given the miles and no abuse, I was concerned.
My mechanic friend suggested changing the fluid. Never changed from 2004 to 2023, so I figured it was due.
The problem was what to choose. I wanted to look at all options, but was willing to pay more for fluid changed but rarely.
The problem is, what to choose? This manual uses ATF, but that's where confusion began. Some makes didn't make a specific recommendation for ATF in manuals, notably Royal Purple, which surprised me. Others specifically mentioned manuals, but didn't say much. Online research said it may be necessary to add friction modifiers. May be?! The one product that seemed to proclaim its suitability with the correct friction characteristics was Red Line. I had a machinist friend that ran Red Line in a Roots type supercharger and swore by itl.
Amazon sells the Red Line for $16 a quart, including the D4 version I needed. Hmm. $64 every 20 years seems worth the extra money.
The results were astounding. The old truck shifts "like butta", in fact better than I can ever remember it in all these years. I couldn't be happier that Project Farms' research backs up my decision.

Awesome test! One suggestion for another test: could you test Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle ATF vs Toyota branded WS ATF? I know Toyota ATF WS is basically Mobil fluid (according to Toyota's Material Safety Data Sheet) but Mobil may use a different additive package vs their standard WS fluid. I've read a lot of good things about Valvoline's MaxLife Multi-Vehicle ATF but would love to see how it stacks up against Toyota or any other major brand like Castrol, etc.

Thank you for the great videos & please keep them coming as I think everyone loves watching them!

A little late to the comment party, but there’s a “new” product getting popular on social media I think would be great for you to test. They use a pretty similar bearing tester to yours in their videos, but we all know results and videos can be misleading. Prolube Oil is the brand, claiming to have a “miracle” additive and grease, a quick search and you should be able to find some of their content.

I still think you’re the best unbiased/honest reviewers out there, which is why I’m reaching out.

Wish you would have tested the Amsoil brand but also CVT FLUID, just like motor oil using 0w16 and 0w20 is extremely common anymore. Both oil ND cvt fluids are the new normal.. I would love to see tests on both, but always include Amsoil. I'm a huge Amsoil guy and now I use Amsoil, from oil, cvt fluid, 4 stroke air cooled oil, that stuff really made a difference on noise level l, very smooth sounding generator from the first start up. I used a noise reader and what a difference!! Also I use their 2 stroke oil on a new weedeater, chainsaw. You can run that stuff at 100:1 or 80:1, for any 2 stroke that requires 32, 40, or 50:1. I ran both 100:1 with non ethanol fuel and just over 1 year they are running great and will start with 1 pull. I will admit I was alittle nervous but I'm beyond stunned .. I absolutely know they make the best stuff, period, but 100:1 WOW
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

I'm about to change the manual transmission fluid in my 2007 g35; I had been using nissan fluid the past 2 changes and had been doing a fluid change every 30K miles; I bought Redline MTL months ago just because the nissan fluid pricing go much more expensive, and I was hesitant on using Redline, but after seeing this video, I have now more confidence in switching to Redline products. Thanks again for doing all this research, very helpful to consumers! More power to your channel and please continue doing what you do!
