I hate how so many of the "problematic" factors of the old movies are just shallow nitpicks that rely on people having a very surface level understanding to agree with.

Disney has been meticulously infiltrated by Leftist "activists" for almost 2 decades now, which is why Disney movies/shows have been steadily declining in both quality and storytelling. The only stories that Leftist "activists" know how to tell are the same stories that their Leftist Cult Leaders told them (about Neo-Feminism, Anti-racism, Misogyny, the 1619 Project, Transgenderism, Gender Ideology, Equity, and so on). Starting to make sense yet?

These characters were given privilege in that they weren't forced into an arranged marriage with someone they didn't love and were protected from being raped by evil men.

I heard that they couldnt animate the prince well so they just cut him out. (There was supose to be a scene where he grew up with snow and became worried when she vanished.) So i stead, they just wrote it in the opening credits. It wasgetting ling amd expensive aftrr all, this being a first time more realistic rendition than just loony toons.

What they are doing to Snow White is especially terrible as Disney wouldn’t be where it is today if Snow White wasn’t a success. It’s biting the hand that feeds you on another level as Walt Disney himself risked EVERYTHING to get that film made and it was even called “Disney’s Folly” but that didn’t stop Walt Disney and so that is why them remaking Snow White like this is so terrible.

Honestly, I hear these people's opinion on the Disney princesses and I feel like until now I lived in an alternative reality, watching different films.
Yes, classic princesses find a man, but none of them has that as main goal.
Cinderella wants to have fun out of the house, Ariel wants to explore a world she yearns to know more about, Belle wants a life richer than the gossip of a small village, Mulan wants to find herself, Pochahontas wants to be a bridge between her people and the conquerers, Tiana wants to open a restaurant and keep the legacy of her father alove, Jasmine wants to be in power of her own life decisions.
Snowhite and Aurora dream about love, but what's wrong with that?
They're all nice and what's wrong with that?
Some are victim of abuse and it's rheir only way to survive.
And if they were "rescued" or helped by someone, it's only because no matter all the efforts they couldn't possibly make it out without the help of they people they were nice to in the first place.
And there's nothing wrong in asking for or accepting help, when one is in the sh*t.

These people are at the very least very superficial and didn't understand princesses at all.
And also sending bad, dangerous messages to all of those who may be in a situation of difficulty or abuse, victim blaming anyone who's not capable of kicking a***s.

Sorry for the long rant.

You know I've got to say despite how terrible all the live action remakes are I do think there are two movies that could work as live action remakes, one movie would be the Black Cauldron if it was directed by Sam Rainey and he was given 100% control, I mean could you imagine the horn King done with practical effects or that scene where he raises the army of the undead it could be a modern retake of that scene from Army of Darkness.

The other movie would be Treasure Planet that sci-fi retelling of Treasure Island, but I feel like it would only work as like a one or maybe two season TV show. Also only person that can play Long John Silver is Johnny Depp because I think he could capture the old pirate who'd seen it all and has a lot of regrets, but still trying to get that one bit of glory left, to do one final great adventure before he retires.

Watched original snow white recently.
lets see, someone wants to kill her, so she runs into the forest, then masters own fear.

She then comes upon the dwarves cottage, and decides independently to clean the place, both so the dwarves will more likely let her stay, and because she thinks they're children living alone and she feels sorry for them.

She then leads the animals in cleaning up.
When the dwarves arrive, she gently, but firmly takes charge, cooking for them, but only under condition that they wash themselves first.

this all completely changes the dwarves attitude to her; especially dock and grumpy, and literally mobilises them against the evil queen.

She never gives up hope of finding the prince and leading a better life, even though she's working as a servant at the start of the film, then hanging out deep in the woods later on, and of course that hope gets unexpectedly rewarded.

Honestly, other than Snow white not exactly showing good judgement in taking the apple from the disguised queen, she's about as strong, "independent", and assertive as anyone could wish, considering that she doesn't actually "depend", upon anyone in the film, accept when she's literally unconscious and the dwarves defeat the queen.

of course, she does all this through kindness, charm and, yes, by being "nice", IE thinking of the needs of others before herself, which I think is the real problem these so called critics have.

Confusing agreeability and selflessness for weakness, and not seeing any strength that doesn't involve inflicting pain on others.

I want Disney to stop with the mindset that they have to “fix” there movies. We love them for a reason. So, instead of changing what they think didn’t work- they need to increase what did. Don’t destroy and “rebuild” a movie your remaking- try to let it evolve! Take an idea that was planted in the original and run with it further than the original could!!!

I'm not very good at articulating my thoughts but I'm going to give it a try.
Why is it that whenever people write feminist movies its always that the girl is this girlboss, superpowered girl who just so excels at every thing she does and for bonus points scoffs at love? Why is it that whenever men characters are written even to be superpowered badasses love is an integral part of their storyline (James Bond, Superman, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Indiana Jones etc) and no one bats an eye about it?
What's wrong with wanting love? In fact in this modern day and age of the world, that's what we need right now.
Its like feminism for them is toughness, assertiveness etc and anything that resembles love, gentleness, kindness is deemed "anti-feminist" - that ideology is actually antifeminist
Feminism should be about embracing every aspect of femalehood, not shunning core parts of it. Not every woman wants to be a leader, some just want to be a loving wife, mother, friend etc
It's like my Nigerian friend says:
"If everyone wants to lead, who will follow?"
A leader needs followers, but if everyone wants to lead, then a leader has no follower.
Phew, that was alot.

Just wanted to ask when did it become wrong to cast people without dwarfism as the fairy tale creature? People with dwarfism are different than the fairytale species. I don’t see anything wrong with going the Lord of the rings approach and just using special effects on an average sized person. I’m not opposed to having actors with dwarfism play the roles, i just think it’s not a requirement.

As for the actors of the 7 magical creatures, I was under the impression Disney was doing reshoots and re editing. It seemed like they got pretty far with the the 7 magical creatures concept, so the actors would have been paid for the work they did even if they weren’t in the final film. They will lose out on the opportunity to show their acting skill for future jobs, but depending on how far they were into the filming phase, they may have not lost much money.

Around the 1960s a fellow by the name of Herbert Marcuse, the most influential Marxist of the 20th century, stated that the working class would never have a Marxist revolution because capitalism delivers the goods it gives people a better life.

Rather than abandon Marxism, because this is essentially saying Marx was wrong, Marcuse said Marxist needed to create a new proletariat. That new proletariat would include feminists, minorities and gay people.

With this in mind he directly taught a woman named Angela Davis. Angel Davis went on to become a black lesbian neo Marxist feminist. She joined the terrorist group the Weather Underground. (You can’t make this crap up.)

After going to jail and serving her time, she went on to become a college professor. Her belief system formed the backbone of modern feminism.

If you’ve heard of instances where straight white women were told to sit down and shut up in feminist circles, she is why.

This is why modern feminist are always talking about smashing the patriarchy, that is a fundamentally Marxist way of thinking. They view “the patriarchy” as oppressive, therefore they must overthrow it.

The patriarchy is one of the most absurd conspiracy theories on the planet. It is essentially saying that all men, crossing language barriers, cultural barriers, religious barriers, geographical barriers and economic barriers are conspiring to oppress women for men’s benefit. And they’re doing it without any meetings, organizational structure, or direct communications. It is the most absurd thing that anyone could believe.

They think a man merely looking at a woman is oppressive. A woman trying to make yourself attractive to find a mate is a result of this oppression. Because making yourself attractive so you don’t become a crazy old cat lady, Is harmful to women.

Disney hasn’t embraced this form of radical feminism.

Disney pretty much is stuck living in the past and using the present to try and fix what never needed to be fixed. There are several stories, fairy tales, etc out there that have never been touched by any film studio, and yet Disney keeps relying on remakes, sequels, prequels, and/or spinoffs. They are probably even more afraid now to try something new since Wish bombed at the box office; a shame the film that was meant to celebrate their 100 year anniversary turned out to be a big disappointment. Disney really needs to do some soul searching and actually listen to their audience (not just the minority of whiners and karens) or things are not going to improve.

The “original songwriters” were NOT involved in LA Little Mermaid. Howard Ashman, the lyricist, died of HIV/AIDS just after B&B came out. It is really disgusting to suggest he wrote “rape lyrics” because he was a cis gay man. This lets you know what Woke Disney believes about this group—They think all cis gay men are automatically “violent predators.” That’s part of the reason Woke Disney sucks, too.

What’s funny about a lot of these complaints about the animated Disney princesses is that they actually WERE strong and independent. Jasmine took no shit, storming off to confront Jafar HERSELF when Aladdin went missing. Same with Belle; she saved both her father AND Beast from Gaston, and yes, while she wasn’t the one to stop Gaston, she still went back to the castle to help the person she fell in love with.

"Fixing the originals" is only their excuse to justify their soulless cashgrab remakes. All justified with these mostly invalid platitudes. Like "Ariel just gave up her home, family, and life under the sea for a man." When, no, Ariel was a land-loving human weeb. Sure, she thought Eric was handsome. (What a narrative crime.) But she only persued him at all because Ursula made her deal all about getting with him. Ariel wanted to be part of the human's world long before Eric showed up into the picture. Evident by her weeb figurine collection and geting information from Skuddle. Anyone with intellectual honesty would see that. But then there wouldn't be a fake platitude to grandstand behind. To seem more thoughful and forward thinking than they actually are.

Yea, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is a fairytale. In fact the tale was much different earlier on like you wouldn't believe. Like in the earliest version the evil queen is invited to Snow White and the prince's wedding, and as punishment the prince makes the queen wear molten iron shoes and forces her to dance until she dies. Plus what exactly is offensive about the term "dwarf." A term originating from Norse mythology about small-sized people who are masters of craft and forged the greatest weapons and armor in that mythology, including Thor's hammer Mjölnir. That's metal as fuck!

There are people who just hate Disney, no matter what they do, and that's sad. These haters are so wrong about the characters, as you have mentioned. But companies are smart to address their detractors - I've learned this in Communications classes that I've taken. Sometimes acknowledging your critics helps to avoid a bigger crisis down the road. It can be a smart business practice. But for Disney it's not working because, as I said, some people hate them for no reason and will literally find fault with anything they do. I don't think Disney hates itself, they are just a good company caught between a rock and a hard place. I will always LOVE the princesses! :)
