(Simplification if not bad comrades. It is a way to condense information to its necessary core elements, which helps understand the rest of the information and concepts which branch off of them! It is even a necessary skill of engineering being taught in universities TODAY ! Simllification when used properly is a fantastic tool. But must be used properly, such as with this video)

I have to ask: sure, Capitalism has some imperialistic tendencies to it, but what makes communism anti-imperialist?

If it’s an ‘internationalist’ movement, isn’t that just code for ‘imperialism’?

For example, if Marxist-Leninism was “anti-imperialist”, why didn’t the USSR relinquish the former Russian Empires territories; letting it break apart and leaving them to their own devices?

this is the absolute bedrock of Marxisim-Leninism. Marx observed that competition was antagonistic by nature, and as such, it would lead to a higher concentration of capital and the intrinsic need of eliminating competition, but in a MAFIA-like type. Your video implies that somehow companies have power over the market, they don't, their own actions affect the output hence producing crises. They don't fix prices. I would like to get empirical evidence for your description of Competition. I really hope you don't come from the neoclassic perfect competition bs. Let's really stop abandoning Marx, you are holding Lenin accountable against MARX who spent 40 years of his life studying this phenomena. there is no basis for the claims you make in this video.

However I have a question, so most of my friends also share a similar communistic viewpoint as I do, however, what they say are things like "Yes, capitalism sucks, communism is better in theory but it would never work, because people are too greedy", I think differently and that it has a chance at working, however, I am unsure as to what to respond to this claim. What would be my antithesis be so to speak? lol

If we think about the commons sense meaning of the word "imperialism", we often hear people telling that the USSR was also imperialist, since it invaded/sent military/etc.etc. to Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Afganistan, and all of the Eastern Europe practically. How should we deal with these arguments, if there even is any other way than just relying on the different meaning of particular terms whether it is understood as what marxists say or in common sense? (My personal opinion for a solution is just refrain from re-branding commonly understood terms)

The highest stage of capitalism so far. It doesn't look like it'll happen any time this century but I wouldn't rule out capitalism becoming more globally homogenous, erasing the distinction between imperial periphery and core.

Recommend Anwar Sheikh Capitalism: Competition, Conflict, and Crises for a Marxist critique of the usefulness of monopoly capitalism as a paradigm. The TLDR is capitalism has and continues to be extremely competitive which drives phenomena like imperialism and neo colonialism. Liked the video and subbed.

I actually started to use this to reach out to veterans and active duty friends to explain the why of what they do every day. Thank you Comrade and keep up the good work. I started watching this series out of curiosity (and admittedly my ignorance around Communism in general ) and it didn't take long to realise, "Oh, shit..turns out I'm definitely a Communist." 😬

In the last ≈six months I've been listening to discourse and analysis, and just in the past week begun reading theory, but class consciousness and revolutionary thought have pervaded nearly every waking hour..and I finally actually feel like I'm spending my time wisely 😅

Communists should also understand that imperialism is an epoch of capitalism and not a states policy.

I wonder if we're in a new stage now (or if it's useful to see it that way). As capital drives income inequality and with nowhere else to expand on Earth, it makes it harder and harder for the labour force to consume commodities. The only way around this would be to figure out how to develop capital with alternative forms of consumption (i.e. internet profiting from advertising) or develop more potential for consumption (thinking either more consumers or maybe economic development in countries that were previously/currently victims of imperialism).
