love Shaperbox, I just don't find a solution to record automation while playing the tack (write, touch in automation on the channel doesn't work)....

There’s not many plugins where if you learn it in and out, it could drastically improve your creativity. This is definitely one of them. It could be similar to investing your time into learning synthesis.

Just bought shaper box and there's some decent uses I wouldn't have thought to do straight away.

This is a cool ass tool to be fair. It's so much easier to draw stuff in instead of automating the old fashioned way, but I feel you'd need to know what your doing to the sound before hand. It's not some wonder tool that you just click presets on without knowing what it does to the sound. Grossbeat comes to mind with that, you can do everything in that here, but you need to know what it's doing to the original sound to do it.

Sound design is becoming a more essential part of composition as people get more discerning and expect more surprise in their music; Things like Gatekeeper by Polyverse, Narcotic by Lunatic Audio, Dmitry Sches Tantra 1 & 2, and Other Desert cities by Audio Damage open up a lot of territory and none are fully replaced by Shaperbox. But because I had purchased Gatekeeper (which does delay fx, gating and pan fx using similar drawing tools), although I was curious about the differences I put off buying this until tonight; but after an hour with it, this tool is worth the money, no question - and your video does a fantastic job of showing off its wide variety of uses, which I'm fairly sure is ground that no other plugin can cover in its entirety at present.

Just picked up Shaperbox 3.....I'm blown away with how much flavor it adds to tracks!! 😳

why use Shaperbox to add movement to a pad sound, for example, when this can easily be done in the synth itself using modulation?

ShaperBox just released a sidechain vst. Volume shaper is still relevant because you can use it to learn to harness energy/loudness

the transient shaping part was pretty neat. FL studio has a thing that lets you do that right at the start and it works great

Great ideas, that’s a cool looking plugin. I’ve been really digging Tracktion Waveform Racks lately for that kind of fun stuff. You can add LFOs, step sequencers, transient shapers and more to pretty much anything. Really interesting possibilities when automating volume and pan, or doing complex parallel stuff. Also, routing random LFOs to bitcrusher parameters is a beautiful thing!
