Lol who doesn't drink Woodford Reserve Double Oaked?
ОтветитьFreakin NERD!
ОтветитьI've had the double oak, for my taste buds, and limited periodic drinking, I actually like the standard Woodford Reserve with Coke on the rocks.
Ответитьmade the mistake of nosing this in a cairn. I’ve loved it since I started sipping, but nosing it smelled like liquid smoke. One of the few beers I could absolutely not drink was a beer called Bonfire by Sam Addams years ago.
I might have ruined heavy oaked bourbons for myself.
Sams club has it for $49 definitely worth it at that price, I would not recommend paying $60 though
ОтветитьIt's great, but it isn't $60 great.
ОтветитьWith you 100% on the WRDO. Just finished it and did not love it as much as other WRs
ОтветитьI just bought it on sale for $49. I agree with you definitely a skip it
ОтветитьI agree with you on WRDO store picks. Just bought one and it's excellent. Much more balanced than your description of the standard bottle.
ОтветитьBottle was already opened
ОтветитьI know you said skip it but I feel like I have to sip it
ОтветитьI don't think I'm a fan of it. I find it has very harsh chemical/sulpher/ammonia notes. It's way too tannic. It improves with time in the glass, but I don't want to have to wait an hour for a pour to become palatable.
ОтветитьMan, WRDO has become one of my favorites! I always end up getting a new bottle and loving it. It doesn't fail for me.
ОтветитьEnjoy the video
Enjoy this bottle as a nice dessert.
The regular Woodfords I do not care for even store picks of the regular.
I need to try the wheated version
Thanks for the review ... Why Store pick? The price?
ОтветитьThis is a sip it. Don't skip this one.
ОтветитьPerfect in a old fashioned....
ОтветитьDefinitely give it some air ... after coming back to it a week after first Glass, it became impressively better
ОтветитьSkip it! Too much of a bitter finish or after taste
ОтветитьIt retails for $65 🇨🇦 and I’ve always liked it. There Master’s Collection is wonderful. Can’t find it lately.
ОтветитьBeen seeing this bottle come up in a lot of recommended lists and have definitely seen some split reviews in videos and comments. A lot of people are saying to go with Old Forester 1910 over this if given the choice - even from people who like the Woodford. I guess ultimately it's up to the drinker to decide haha I'm wanting to get into whiskey/bourbon/rye, grabbing my first bottle in the next week or two. Really appreciate this channel - thanks for the informative and concise review! Subscribed.
ОтветитьThat bottle should be $39.99. Costco carries it for that and so does Total Wine and Spirits.
ОтветитьHere in SoCal, the regular WR Double Oaked retails for $39.99. Total Wine's store pick goes for $59.99 and it is worth the extra 20 dollars.
ОтветитьI don't like drinking smoke bombs so doubke oak and my pallet don't mix. Like sucking on a wet wood chip
ОтветитьSo my wife got me this for Christmas. And although it was a good poor it was not the sweet syrup taste so many videos say it is. What am I missing?
ОтветитьThis bourbon for me is my favorite neat drink. Just absolutely love it. Pricey in Pennsylvania, around $60, but I love it.
ОтветитьThis is a sip it for me. Enjoy it very much, but it is expensive in Ontario, Canada, so it is sipped sparingly!
ОтветитьCouldnt agree more.
ОтветитьMy bottle is a store pick, and it tastes like vanilla frosted cupcakes. Go with those.
ОтветитьWe’re in the exact same spot with this one. It’s good but not a bottle we have to have. Great video Peter!
ОтветитьIt's a sip it for me but I also think the flavors open up when I let it sit for about 20min after the pour.
ОтветитьSo if you choose to skip it, why would you get another bottle if it’s a store pick? Not sure I understand that.
ОтветитьAh, another experience with Woodford Double Oaked that is consistent with mine. First year into whiskey (and drinking, actually) and kept seeing it as a top recommendation for the first bottle of bourbon. Smells great, but it didn't translate to the taste, which felt like predominant oak and a bit of spice. A boring old bottle of Buffalo Trace was much more of my jam.
ОтветитьThis is my all time favorite Bourbon!!! Literally tastes like pancake syrup to me!!
ОтветитьLove this series. Great bourbon as well! Try the OF 1910. I prefer that over the WR DO
