cant get it to work after days am done

I was able to setup the server and the client but there is no internet connection when I scan the QR code on a mobile phone. How do I fix this?

im having an issue with handshake, i have
opnsense on a proxmox vm, with a few vlans.
i did forward from wan side ipv 4 and 6 back to my ubuntu server that has docker of wireguard. but i can't get handshake to work
what am i doing wrong.

that was super easy. i was expecting way more faffing around to get it to work, but i just ran docker compose and scanned the qr code with the app and it is working flawlessly.

I am able to establish a handshake but can't access the internet :(

Hi Tim! I'm using an IPSec L2TP vpn server, but recently android 12 stopped supporting l2tp natively, so ikev2 is now the only choice

But the issue is that I need strongswan to use and strongswan on android seems to require the app which sucks

Do you think wireguard (technically an application) is better than OpenVPN, or is a protocol like IPSec IKEv2 worth the hassle?

I got as far as "docker" and ... no, not interested. How about some WireGuard examples directly between hardware without all the crappy middleware.

Is it possibel to have Router in Cloud for example pfsense and vpn server enabled in it. Then two sites behind nat connect like clients to that pfsense and see each other like that.

I've tried to use, had the "handshake" but can't use the Internet. It's like I have no Internet connection. The moment I deactivate wireguard, the Intenret connection back to normal. Does anyone knows what I missing?? 😕

I'd never run a VPN server in a docker container. Even my pi-hole and unbound aren't containerized. Just adds complexity to your network for no reason. In fact, you lose some security by putting your VPN in docker.

Brilliant tutorial as always, thanks tim. However after configuring both server and host and connecting to my WireGuard server via my iPhone I am unable to route to the internet or connect to any local subnets. It’s basically a black hole.

I used the docker-compose method and I cant connect to the internet or anything on my local network. its port forwarded and setup as it should be and on my phone I can see bytes TX and RX but cant get any website or local network
