The Theology of the Holy Spirit Explained and Defended

Instead of blindly believing the claims of charismatic preachers, the wise course is for us to test their claims to avoid being misled by a deceiver. Satan is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) But how can the claims of the Trinity be reliably tested?

God’s written Word is our divinely given guide to the truth. Regarding it, Jesus Christ said: “Your word is truth.” (John 17:17) So we are admonished at 1 John 4:1: “Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.” When carefully compared with the Bible, do their claims, philosophies, and actions conflict with it. God’s Word is the authority as to what is the truth.

Is the preacher, religion, or organization that claims that the Trinity is true, practicing what God says to do in the end times. Are they spreading the truth from door to door, in every tribe and nation? Do their members reflect love among themselves or do they display disunity in believing different things regarding the Bible? Do the congregations in the religion teach and believe different things? Does the religion have all races and tongues among them with harmony and love, or do they belong to different nations and kill each other in war? Paying homage to nationalism instead of God. If the religion does not show these characteristics, you know it is a false religion. They are condemned by God’s Word. Revelation 18:4-5 says, "And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind." Did you observe what this scripture said? God says to get out of false religion unless you want to experience its plaques.

If the preacher or religion claims that the Trinity is true, they are blatantly contradicting God’s Word. If they say, Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, and the holy spirit are one God, and are all equal, they plainly contradict what God says at Exodus 20:3,
“You Shall Have No Other Gods Before Me” By making Jesus and the holy spirit equal to God, they dishonor him.

Be careful about listening to any religion or preacher who teaches false doctrines. A lot of the present doctrines come from the traditions of men. Have you noticed that when people try to prove the Trinity, they quote religious leaders and so-called scholars? That's not good. I do not listen to the traditions of men and neither should you. The Bible should be our source of reference. Preachers that teach the Trinity or Jesus is Jehovah God, they are sinning. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) Is he exalting himself and saying, "I am the preacher, I know more than you." Matthew 23:12 cautions: “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled.” And Acts 20:30 warns Christians: “From among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.” The Trinity is a twisted thing. Everyone who believes in it cannot explain it or has their own take on it. So be careful about listening to false doctrines.

In conclusion, “The wisdom from above is first of all chaste, then peaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits, not making partial distinctions, not hypocritical. Moreover, the fruit of righteousness has its seed sown under peaceful conditions for those who are making peace.” The previous scripture said, that the wisdom from above is peaceful and reasonable. That means it makes sense. That they all agree upon it. Does the preacher or religion seek the truth, or are they trying to make wrong right, for religious tradition's sake? God’s Word denounces them emphatically, saying: “Whoever . . . wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.” Thus the Bible exposes what is false.—James 4:4. Be careful of what you believe. It means your life. God's wrath will come to action in Armageddon.

SOPHIA (WISDOM) is the HOLY SPIRIT....our SPIRITUAL MOTHER. Her spirit is the architect of creation, and has counsel.

So the patriachs.didnt have the Holy Spirit. We were created in the likness of God. The mind the body and the emotions ..speaking. we cant operate without Christ and the Holy Spirit. Still cant separate them.

I have watched most of this but I am disappointed that I'm still not convinced that the doctrine of the Trinity is Biblical - one of the things which, many years ago when I was exiting JW religion, was a major problem to me in terms of mainstream Christianity. I found - and still find - that I can see more convincing argument that according to the NT Jesus is God but the arguments that the Holy Spirit is definitely a separate person rather than simply an aspect of the Father, his force, are weak because they are ambiguous. Basically you can interpret them either way according to whatever you want to believe: person and personally separate from the Father, or not.

Also the fact is that there are non-Biblical religions, pre-dating Christianity, which had triune deities. (There's at least one I know of which still exists in Hinduism.) Don't you think that's kinda suspicious? I certainly do.

Finally, we know that early Christians were arguing about this for hundreds of years and it wasn't until the 4th century that it was finally ruled on... which shouts to me that it wasn't clear then either!

Been waiting on this because coming from a Baptist background sometimes it seems like their Trinity is the Father Son and Holy Sciptures. I started praying for discernment and ability to understand Scripture without denominational lenses. It is Crazy what you read and find in scripture you have read your whole life. Eye opening when those scales fall and you re-read the Bible in context

Ummm... The Bible says God is love. The way it manifests in the physical is MARRIAGE. Also, the reason the Holy Spirit is FEMININE, which is WISDOM. Like eve came out of Adam, the Holy Spirit came out of God aka God's helper. The trinity. Read Psalms and wisdom is called a she. Also in Psalms the characteristics of wisdom are the same qualifications of a noble wife.

That's why they attack marriage like they do and play man against woman.

To be in the new covenant is to have the Spirit of Christ/Yeshua living within, He is the Word, written, engraved on our hearts so that we live like Jesus (a Torah keeping Jew who did not add to or subtract from Gods law). He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is coming and He will reign according to God's law.

How can anyone teach that the Holy Spirit is not Christ?

Triune God, not a trinity of separate persons. One God. Jesus emphasized their oneness because He knew it would appear otherwise. Whenever the spirit of God indwells a physical body it is the Spirit of Christ.

Jesus is the image of the invisible God. He is the reflection "mirror image" of God in a physical/material world.

Colossians 1:15-18

The Word was the vehicle for creating. The Word reflects God's heart.

Throughout the old testament, the usage of "Lord" is usually often referring to a Christophany where Christ Yeshua is walking as a man, interacting with mankind. Elohim is in reference to the spiritual form of God outside this physical realm.

For example, If you read the following portion, you will understand how God does not repent, yet the Lord regretted.

Also consider that the Hebrew word rendered 'repent' in English actually states "strong breath" not necessarily a sigh, but perhaps similar to, "the smoke of His nostrils" in Psalm 18.

Genesis 6
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Note: Compare that God's inherent Wrath is the natural preset outcome of sin against God (like a dangerous waterfall on the broad way) and the Lord's Grace is found only in Yeshua/salvation as Redeemer (like a tumbling fountain on the narrow way). One must be in the Lord, under His protection, part of His body with the blood-sap of His Word feeding you to be accepted by God.

Colossians 2 uses the term "Godhead" to refer to the triunity:

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

If you think of God as the Mind/plan and Christ/Yeshua as the Word and the Holy Spirit as either working outside people or as the Spirit of Christ working within believers, that is a scriptural understanding.

The Spirit is thr breath of God, refered to as He, the Spirit of Christ. All the same when talking of the Spirit.
The Spirit is not a person
Jesus said he must go, so that the Comforter will come. Jesus had to be glorified first. John 7:38,39

Humility, I found some in you. That means I will call you brother. May I walk with you in my journey of sanctification. I suspect our Lord and Savior we will see coming in the clouds of glory before we stray off this path. May it be God's will for that is all I should want to know. Question: What is the difference between the father and the holy spirit? If I understand trinity the way you understand it the father, the son and the holy spirit are all god but different persons, right? So what destincts one of these persons from the other? And especially what destincts the father from the holy spirit? Thanks

Why couldn't they be in the same space and time?

Trinitarian believes that Marry is the “Mother Of God”…as in the Godhead where there are three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; yet, together they are but one God. The doctrine says that the three are Coequal, Almighty, and Uncreated, having existed eternally in the Godhead.

But if the Trinity is false, it is DEGRADING, ABSURD and UNRESPECTFUL AND FALSE to Almighty God to call anyone his equal, and even worse to call Mary the “Mother of God.”
Which means implying that the 3 had a Mother called Mary
God the Father (Jehovah) has a Mother Mary being the ‘Mother of God’;
God the Son (Jesus)has a Mother Mary being the ‘Mother of God’; God the Holy Spirit has a Mother being the ‘Mother of God’

I strive to write worship songs for my Church that engage all members... Those who prefer worshipping through teaching and those who prefer worshipping through singing.

I have found the song "Holy Spirit" to be both widely accepted and ridiculed. Some understand and love it's emotional expression of longing, yet others desire more doctrine and seem to stumble.

So, I have been working on a song that the Church can "with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Eisegesis. This assumes the Trinity from the very beginning. Mention of the Spirit is never distiguished from God the Father as Spirit (John 4:24) nor does it eliminate the possibility that Holy angels are not the Spirit.

Very good points to be made just for your information, there are more than one word for love in Greek! And one of them is definitely masculine! And that word would be Eros which is word for erotic! He was their masculine god of love!

There is also storgea ! Which is like a son loves a mom or a dad or a brother loves a sister or another brother (family love)

Then there is phileo which means kind of like a brotherly or a friendship love, and then of course we have agape unconditional love

When you ignore the holy spirit you become either gnostic or a deist. When you focus only on the holy spirit and ignore the father you become a pantheist, solipsist or a new ager

The Holy Spirit is a gift. God as his person is not a gift to us. God himself is composed of Spirit, not flesh. Therefore, we should conclude that the spirit is not a person but a part of God. Facts dont like feelings. Places Trinity is mentioned in the bible? Zero. In fact, both Father and Son have actual names YHWH and Yeshua. The Holy Spirit has no name! Let that sink in. Also, the doctrine of trinity originated with catholicism around 300-400 AD. That alone should make us question it. We should NOT pray to a God that is not God.

Please, can someone explain to me HOW the HS can be 'person' according to this statement by the Lord Jesus; " If you, bad as you are know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavanly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? . Here Jesus is contrasting HS with an 'egg' ( Not a 'person'! also the original greek word 'Ho' = 'The' does NOT appear in the original MSS texts, thus Jesus does not us e a PERSONAL noun.). Did not John the baptist also contrast the HS with 'water'? ( see John 1:31-33). Plus Paul speaks of 'distributions' of HS' ij Heb 2:4. again the original greek states it is the HS that is 'distributed NOT the 'gifts'.) Thus though we are wrong to limit the HS to a mere 'power', like electricity. It still is God's Holy Spirit, NOT a 'person' equel TO the Father or it would not need 'sending' 'being given' 'poured out on 120!' 'clothing people'
