Nice, good method, or you could just cut some sandpaper!?
ОтветитьWhat is the Angle suppose to be on scissors? What would be good to get from Amazon to sharpen them? I was looking at the Work Sharp Culinary E2 Kitchen and Knife Sharpener.
ОтветитьGreat video, cut right to the point.
ОтветитьI love your job!
Thank you for the professionalism, availability and great job!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for posting. Do you have any info on how I can sharpen my seam rippers I use in sewing? There has to be a way rather than throwing the dull pair out and purchasing another 🤔😕
Ответитьmy WPS - solingen 11' tailor scissor has a screw that is proprietary half of it ofc the threads and the other half has a cut out, so it's conical to account for the movement of that one arm. Wonder what is is called and if it can be found to buy
Ответитьoooh so on the side you need only the edge also, not the whole edge, i always went the angle the side was, and sharpened the whole thing
ОтветитьI thought cutting aluminum foil with a scissor sharpens it?
ОтветитьSLOP . i thought you were talking about vomit !!
ОтветитьSkips ahead to 3 minutes to avoid the junk.
ОтветитьIt worked! Thank you!
ОтветитьStumbled upon this video recently, I have a file but I kind of improvised with aluminum foil crump to to the de-burring part, which kind of worked well.
Draw filing along the edge towards the contacting surfaces while moving away from the pivot towards the tip of the scissors blade kind of make the file "skip" on the edge bevel that coincidentally restore a very subtle "micro serration" along the edge that makes a pair of scissors cut really well.
Thankyou. Taking too long using a stone on a pair of second shears that just needs this level of TLC.
ОтветитьOnly hit the back if there's junk in the back. wise words
ОтветитьHello,
Thank you for your time and video.
Do you know how to tell the difference between the Wiss W20 and Wiss W20N shears? I understand the W20N is considered heavy duty for cutting more layers of material, and is actually built thicker. But if you do not both to compare how do you know? Especially when you are purchasing W20N and they send the W20. I want to confirm that I received what I paid for.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you once again.
Ron
Very informative thanks
ОтветитьI'm 1/3 in and you're just talking sheet. Shorten your videos and get to the point. Dislike 👎
ОтветитьIf you want to test how sharp your scizissors are you should try to cut fabric with them.
ОтветитьNew subscriber here.
ОтветитьCool, I only have that cylindrical stone accessory for the Dremel, is there a video to sharpen scissors with just those?
God bless.
Super Video, I have same old scissors in my grandfather’s workshop. I want to sharpen it. Thank you for this video.

Ответитьthank you, i wanna do this on my silver scissor that looks very useful when im back to school because it can be fold and it looks nice
ОтветитьVery helpful
Easy to undrrstand
Really liked
Straight to the point
Thank you for helping us surviving this civilisation. Great!
ОтветитьYou good brother
ОтветитьI found your video veryuseful today. I like how you explained what and why you were doing each step. And you did it in a way that I could clearly see exactly how you were doing it and you didn't do it so fast that I needed to keep rewatching it to try to figure out how you did it. Thank you so much. I have a big bag full of scissors that were not useful no more. I'm trying to learn to quilt and I'll be needing my scissors. Again thank you and awesome job. Look forward to learning more useful tips from you
ОтветитьPlease get to the sharpening not the history of your sissoring.... sorry need this asap... 😊
ОтветитьThank you so much.
Best regards from Italy.
I heard a little Bob Ross language!😂 " It makes things really, really happy." Good video👍.
ОтветитьNice video, as a housewife, don’t have all the gadgets, much less the one holding the scissors to sharpen with a file…..just have a normal sharpening stone..
ОтветитьO man, you have nice instruments on your back.
ОтветитьThank you for the video. I just got given an old pair of scissors by my mom, and I needed good instructions on how to touch up the sharpness.
ОтветитьTwo questions: 1) Does anyone have any info on Reico Scissors made in Germany? Various search engines show exactly zero 2) I sharpened my new to me Reico today according this video, and it cuts great. But wont do the slide along the paper test. Not good enough then?
ОтветитьI end up making them worse..ugh
ОтветитьThanks
I managed sharpening a small pair of scissors just now
I was sharpening these scissors I have for an hour. Trying to get it sharp by changing the profile. But it still was not sharp. I learned that your method is way better. Also what about sharpening hair shears? The ones I have have a turn rivet and the blades are sharpened to come together. They are not flat? How do I sharpen them?
ОтветитьWhat brand are the 100 year old scissors?
ОтветитьThank youuuu
ОтветитьThanks for the info.
ОтветитьI’ve literally worked for over an hour on a 600 diamond stone to flatten the edge on a pair of big box scissors and you showed it done in minutes. Are those scissors extra hard or what am I doing wrong.
Ответитьtalking too much
ОтветитьMy 1950s surplus scissors seem to have a screw tightened then spot welded, LoL. I had to pop the weld to tighten them.
ОтветитьI remember back in 1953, I lost a nice pair of sharpened scissors. My neighbor came over to help me look for them. We found them, lodged deep in my back. Well, I was elated to find them, and my back pain suddenly disappeared! Wonderful memories of my past.
ОтветитьExcellent video thanks
ОтветитьPeople can make money bringing these services back again we do need them. ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI remember that old guy that came door to door looking to sharpen scissors. I wish he was still here thanks for vide
ОтветитьWhat kind of file? Please
