the problem is maybe windows 10 because windows 10 use more ram compared to windows 7

My laptop is just 2 years newer than this but it only has Intel graphics 4000 with 2Giga Bytes of RAM :(

fun fact: having a laptop with a backlit keyboard gives you 20 extra fps

First, let me shout out the obvious: THAT LAPTOP WAS NEVER MEANT FOR GAMING BACK THEN, AND WILL CERTAINLY NOT GAME TODAY!!!

Now, about it being able to playback at 1080p... Did you even bother to optimise the machine in question? like, getting h264ify on Edge instead of Chrome, taking down all of MS bloatware, disabling all the unnecessary UI visual effects, GETTING AN SSD and a pair of 2x4gb pc3-8500 sticks?

I'm asking bcs I just watched your video at 1080p 60fps and 1.25x on a core i3 VAIO with that same 310m GPU, 12 tabs on the background, a couple Excel books and Outlook (desktop, not 365) as well as the task manager on the background, loaded and working without further issue; and I missed to say It's also got a 5:4 monitor on the side so... more workload for the nVidia and the machine still endures.

That said, your Toshiba as well as my VAIO do make up for excellent media centers, and I prefer either laptop a hundred times over having a Firestick, Roku Box, Chromecast, or any other smart-box thing hooked to my TV. Heck, this Sony still has a BD-ROM so why bother!

Don't shame that old PC just because it can't game. I bet that toshiba is still more capable not to say solid and cool looking than a lot of the cheapo Chromebooks and Windows laptops that come with eMMC storage and Intel Atom cpus. At least that hardware was not destined to the waste-bin from the day it left the factory.

I have a loptop still from 2010, DELL i3 cpu, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 grafische kaart, 4gig memory. Use it so far just one purpose only for my indoor bike training program (zwift). It works but I already had to seriously strip down windows 10 to run, stop updates, use the best cooling paste out there...... Looking for a new one now because it's a pain, soooo slow.

Probably the map change that destroyed cs fps. Dust2 is quite an intensive map now

A quick guide for DirectX versions and how the game utilize it.

DirectX 9 games is always Rendered in Single-Thread of a CPU. Doesn't matter if the CPU has 16 Cores 32 Threads, it will only use 1 Thread to render the entire game. Online games are the exception. It uses 2 Threads where as 1 Thread for the Game itself, 1 Thread for network connectivity and players activity on the screen or minimap. Like CSGO for example.

DirectX 10 Games is often visually no different from DirectX 9 if the game offered both Options in the menu. For example, the original Crysis 2007, and then Devil May Cry 4 2008. The only difference now, is the game can use up to 4 Threads of the CPU instead of just 1 Thread.

DirectX 11 has the default to use 4 Threads of CPU, up to 8 Threads. Just like GTAV offers Dx11 & Dx10 Options, that just changes the way CPU Threads being used.

DirectX 12 can use whatever amounts of Threads available in the CPU, but need minimum of 4 Threads no less. However it's also extremely difficult for developers to optimize any Game to use 32 CPU Threads for example.
