This is a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, right? It seems really similar. There's a 1950s and a 1970s version already. Both of those are good, but I haven't seen this one yet.

This trailer Traumatized me as a child. It played before the Transformers movie in theaters and I literally only watched ET for weeks after that to remind my little 6 year old brain that if aliens are real, not all of them are bad.

First time watching the movie. Amazing cast and storyline. One of the best sci-fi films I've watched.

People just don't know good movies anymore

I just rewatched this after I don't even know how many years. Nicole acts dumb at certain points (like when she decided to shoot Daniel AFTER he opened the employees only door and then had the audacity to be all ~no one touches my child~ like girl stop) and the romance was a form of torture, I swear. At the end with Daniel hiding behind the newspaper as if anyone cared enough to feel suspense about whether they'd end up together...

Anyway, apart from all that it was a good movie.

Oh and at the end when that guy talked about a pandemic 😅 Well...

Calm down with the Age restrictions. This is tame.

I love reading people’s stories about this movie ! I watched this movie in the summer when I was 14 and I thought it was so amazing! I haven’t seen it since but I crossed my mind today and I had to watch the trailer ! Definitely going to rewatch it

this is really a very disjointed movie. There are major continuity issues and it really struggles to present a cohesive narrative. It seems the plot of movie was majorly rewritten to somehow fit the story.
The Invasion neither is able to set up its plot well or get its narrative correct. The background required to set up the plot is just missing. And the narrative lacks a clear progression from the beginning to end.
In fact there are plot elements that make the movie redundant by the end. The Invasion really needed to tighten its plot. If the story idea was to show a mother fighting to save her child, then that should have been expanded as the central idea. Instead the movie takes way too much time showing the effects of the pandemic and the background. And just puts the mother son element as the conclusion. It seems several plots are mixed into one.
Hence this movie feels it has an idea but no clear plot. And Nicole Kidman struggles to potray her character. The movie entirely rests on her shoulder and there is not a single scene where she looks convincing.
In fact the kid and Daniel Craig in their limited roles do a better. It gets a 4.5 from me. A wasted opportunity and a rather irritating movie to watch. Had a good idea, but really no plot to develop the idea.

To me, this movie represents the peak of beauty for Kidman.

I only remembered the part about no sleeping and the goop that grows on your skin
I e specially remember the creepy dude in the suit, and the dramatic car escape.

15 years later. It's still one of the most gripping and haunting trailers i have ever seen. The dialogues and music was way too epic. It's damn sad the film was didn't do well
