no doubt that the US research is among the best in the world. my field of study, business, the majority of the ranking of the financial times business schools are americans, with some english, french, or chinese universities, but there is an issue, US education is very expensive (at least by my standards, i dont know how much americans get paid but here in Algeria, 70 000$ a year of tuition is extremely expensive, the monthly salary is 90$ !). uk universities are proposing a master at 33 000$ which is already expensive, france is proposing them at 18 000$ , and China at 5000$ (for public universities, the high budget international business schools like peking-HSBC or asia europe business school are at 12000$).

when i did my master degree at ESAA, a franco algerian business school, the tuition fee where 2200$ a year, and it was considered an elitist school x)

People do not realize how good the U of WA is because it is tucked away in the northwest and its billionaire supporters donate money for academic purposes and not to the athletic dept.

Need to do more research on how these rankings are done or risk losing credibility making these posts. Your closing statements tries to address this -- but the title of this video is still wrong. For instance it would be more accurate to take the top National Univ in the US from US News and World Report -- than to try and extract from the Global University list because the rankings are more relational to what matters for that specific country. The reason why the rankings differ from Global is because you can't really compare some of the attributes to institutions across the world as you would within a country like the US.
