Ridiculous cost for what it is. Paying for the name, not the quality.
ОтветитьSounds smooooth
ОтветитьAnd it still can't compete with anything made in the last 40 plus years. Even at a local level I have never seen a Tamiya on a track and be completive in any form. Started racing 2WD buggies back in the mid 80's and my first one was a Tamiya Frog, and I took it racing going up against T/A RC10's (They were only released about a year apart) and it only took me about 3 min to figure out I had the wrong buggy. Please do not get me wrong as I love Tamiya, but I just consider then as "Toys" for a lack of a better term.
Ответитьi need parts for my Glamis Uno ><
ОтветитьNeed to get one as soon it is in stock local 🇿🇦
Thank you for the vid...👌
Do you need to buy additional parts if you are doing this for the first time?
ОтветитьI am not a hobbyist, but saw your thumbnail and watched the vid. You are really good at camera shots and editing! I watched the entire video and it makes me want to get an RC car, lol! Also, I put together a Tamiya "Grasshopper" back in 1986 when I graduated high school. I had a ton of fun with it. Upgraded motor, battery, gears, etc. Great starter RC back then. This one you just built is such a cool upgrade to the 80's version! Thanks for the great content!
ОтветитьJust purchased this vehicle. So happy it's made in Japan. I purchased every hop up I can find right now. I still love the way it looks without a body. I'm currently cutting thin aluminum panels with Rothmans livery paint. Can you tell me where you got those paddle tires? Thanks
Ответить"Hex hardware" as opposed to self tapping screws I presume? The last time I built a Tamiya product, was in 1980, and it was the Rough Rider.
ОтветитьNice, makes me want to take my 1986 Hotshot out of the closet and get it going again.
Ответить"I can do quick. according to my wife" The trick is to rub one out just prior....
Ответить
i had a 7700 Mamba Max 12 years ago, you wernt supose to run 3cells with em but it was wild. in my TA-03f drift set up,
ОтветитьMiss my Clod Buster. Back then it was amazing an RC could climb a curb out of the box lol.
ОтветитьEnjoyed this video a lot! I have a daughter who's into car tech and I think it would be nice to do a build together. Any tips on a nice kit to get started with? This BBX would be a little pricey as a first build I guess.
ОтветитьGreat content mate! Just built a Kyosho Optima box art. Hard to beat these types of kit.
ОтветитьI've been thinking about getting into the hobby. Would you reccommend this as a starter vehicle? I have a lot of technical prowess, so the building aspect and understanding how things work will be easy for me. I've seen a lot of upgrade parts for this that might be needed, like an aluminium gearbox case and a rear wing for sw4g points which would look awesome.
Ответитьmemories of my Tamiya Frog from the 80's and a Beaties Hold All.
ОтветитьIt took Tamiya long enough to up their game and stay relevant, this is just one small step for mankind. 🤣I told them a decade ago about the phillips screws on their semi-trucks and that it makes them look like a toddler's toy with a modern body by today's standards. No real semi truck's frame/chassis is fastened together with phillips head screws. It just looks stupid when people take close-up videos of their vehicles and honor them like clergy. If tamiya is trying to copy the real thing- at least begin with the metal hardware FIRST. Out of close to seventy-five RC vehicles I own ( two 20x30 foot buildings full), I have only one Tamiya RC vehicle, the King Hauler, but I changed all of its screws to hardened hex and the chrome plastic bits to machined aluminum or stainless-steel and that was time consuming in itself. I'm a retired heavy equipment mechanic/power production specialist for the fed. One day minus today, I will start an RC channel if I ever fall back on hard times. I have more RC's than rc sparks, by a long shot. I tune into your channel more often than his because you are humble and true to your viewers vs an arrogant snob who forgot who got him where he's at today.
Ответитьタミヤのキットを作ってくださってとても光栄です。これからも色々な作成動画楽しみにお待ちしております。
Ответитьthe best car tamiya ever made was the RC AVANTE from 36 years ago not the 2011
ОтветитьWow, cool! I want to buy one now!
Ответитьbrings back late 80s tamiya memories..
Ответитьnice video... what kind of white pen did you use for the tires?
Ответитьit reminds the rc when i was a kid and saw them on magazines.
ОтветитьIs there a gyro in there? Because I see you are holding drifts...
Ответитьnothing beats that classic Tamiya look
ОтветитьBetter than the fox?
ОтветитьMine is for scale looks, very little use. For fast, I've got 3 Bandits. Very fun builds.
ОтветитьNice Video. Owend in the 80s a Tamiya Hot Shot. Now my son builds his first RC Tamiya. It‘s a VW MK1 on M-05 Chassis. What kind of control unit do you recommend? Kind regards from Germany.
ОтветитьGreat vid 👍🏼
ОтветитьI had a beautiful Tamiya buggy in the early 80's. Loved it but the battery packs back than... like 3 minutes max
Researched it: it was the grasshopper in 1984
That’s a beautiful buggy ❤
ОтветитьNo idea how this video got recommended to me. The last time I touched an RC car was back in the 1980s, it was a Tamiya (Grasshopper).
ОтветитьLooks a lot like the classic Grass Hopper
Ответитьwow,i didnt know they got so detailed and choring lol.would be afraid to go fast haha
ОтветитьHold on so they sell you a model but YOU have to build it! That’s just poor. But genius marketing.
ОтветитьThis just popped up on my feed. No idea why it did, but I loved it.
Man, I miss my Terra Scorcher
I'd look nice and probably handle better with some wing mounts and an Associated RC10 wing.
ОтветитьYou still liking the Castle setup in your BBX? Thinking about doing the same for mine.
ОтветитьThe green roof looks way better, good mistake! 😊
ОтветитьWhat a really nice review. I got my first real RC-car a Tamiya FAV back in 1985. Looks about the same. 😂
ОтветитьHi, I'm just about to purchase this kit. Could you just list down the things which are not included in the kit (which has to be bought separately). As I just joined this hobby. Thanks!
ОтветитьNice paint job, those alloys need to be white though.
ОтветитьWow this took me back to one that I made with my Dad about 40 years ago! Thanks for the nostalgia. Great video, that looks a great buggy.

ОтветитьI really like the green over the box art. Well done 👍🏼 🍕🇺🇸
