Montreal are a completely transformed team with Laines skill level, patience and his ability to Slow the game down showing less frantic activity.
I know another player who had this ability, I saw him play once, and I am not mentioning his name.
Laine is still the same Laine from his early career.

How did the Sabres go from a relatively impressive start to the season to losing 11 games in a row and then being blown out by the (now formerly) last place Canadians? Buffalo fans deserve way better! I was at their last winning game in San Jose and I don't even recognize the team at this point...

Armia didn’t follow up squat. Power literally dished the puck to Armia who was merely gliding into the zone. Buffalo’s lifeless play continues. Great pep talk, Pegula. Adams, thanks for handing out those huge contracts, they’re truly living up to them.

I like watching Cole & Suzuki on the powerplay with Laine. We know he scored a hatrick, with the contribution of Cole & Suzuki each adding 2 assists a piece. But the Habs all around got out of the basement and Buffalo is now last in the Eastern Conference.

As a Sabres fan, looks like we decided after our fourth or fifth loss that we would be challenging for the draft pick this season. Amateur mistakes, always just passing the puck to the opposing team right in front of our goal!

Is it me, or is the Canadiens goal horn different?

People need to understand Montreal Canadians are the 2nd youngest team in the nhl, it’s gonna take awhile until they dominate, maybe in few years if they all stick together

Zero interest from any Sabre to block a shot, look at Clifton and Power, timid body language. A soft team with zero leadership, no actual men with any game to guide the young players. McLeod on the third goal drifting, completely lost. Yet the blame is on the owner/GM, not on the individuals, this group never had a chance.

So happy to see Laine looking like he's having fun again. Dude is electric when on.

It sure looks like Laine likes soft passes made to him, and putting him in the money slot where Caufield used to be must bother a little Caufield, but Laine is delivering. What I'd like to see is two power goal snippers be able to claim that high paying position on the ice. All snippers go there. Mario Lemieux, Ovi etc... I would separate Caufield from the first power play and put him on a second power play wave and hold that high paying position. I still think Slaf should be with Suzuki and Caufield on the first line, I think Anderson and Newhook with Laine would be even as lethal as the first line. Slaf is more of a puck digger than Laine is, Suzuki and Caufield don't have a the physic to be advantaged in a corner puck dig, yes their skill allows them to win some corner battles, Laine would shine with Anderson and Newhook. Both Laine and Anderson are listed as RW/LW players, Newhook is a center.

As a Sabre fan I’m happy the players told the team owner to F himself as opposed to just us for years. We’re 44-50-8 at home since 2022 and he hasn’t spoken to us in 5 years. Thanks for sending the message upward boys. I’d say try harder next home game but that’ll be in front of 18,000 leafs fans, in our building.
