The Doctor is as good an actor as David Tennant himself, or any of the actors who played his part for that matter!

He gave them thw chance to run away then tortured them fir eternity 😂

This part of the episode is the doctor who version of: YOUVE PICKED THE WRONG HOUSE FOOL!

It would be great if The Doctor became a woman and undid this in a comic book.

People should be very afraid of what happens when/if a good and kind person chooses to forget/push aside their morals and rules.

If the Doctor was truly portrayed consistently as a monster, this ending would've worked. But instead it creates confusion; that somehow it's better for someone to live in eternal conscious torment instead of dying with their dignity--same with the Master's fate at the end of this season.

"Oh no, guns bad, but forever trapped in every mirror or collapsed galaxy? That's fine." It's utterly childish writing on morality.

“We wanted to live forever. So the Doctor made sure that we did.” That line gives me chills every time 😨

The thing is, the Family of Blood weren't bad people. They had very short lives, wanted to live forever, and messed with the wrong person.

Many villains that seek for immortality don't know just how wrong they are. Being immortal, without a purpose of being such, is more a curse than a blessing. Many characters who seek immortality in fiction have one thing in common in seeking immortality. They're scared. The Family of Blood was afraid of dying, so they thought they could steal life from a Time Lord. The Father, the Mother, and the Brother are trapped in situations that make them realize that death is more preferable than what they believed. Trapped forever, unable to leave or even move from their predicament. Waiting for the end to come with the release brought by death. Having a purpose while immortal is still painful, but knowing that purpose is bigger than your wants moves such characters forward.

First thing he did was turn Thor’s hammer into chains then he made interstellar and then he only looks in a mirror once a year and finally he makes the scarecrow from wizard of oz

I feel like that dad got off light.

Wait how does trapping someone in unbreakable chains ensure they live forever if they weren't going to in the first place

"I wonder if one day he might forgive her... But there she is, can you see?" When he talked about his sister, it felt like he was at his most vulnerable state. The fact that he goes beyond telling us what her punishment was and keep an eye out for her when looking in a mirror. Like he doesn't want her to be forgotten and perhaps have someone help her.

Just because the doctor does not kill, does not mean that you’re safe, for they are far worse fates than death, and God help any who would dare to mess with the doctor in that regard.

It's the look of general disappointment, or perhaps boredom, and the complete lacking of any words spoken. He just sends them off to their 'eternal life', like an adult putting their child in a time-out corner, if that time-out corner were every single mirror ever

The duty of a time lord isn’t pretty, but it’s a duty nonetheless.

He did this because they slaughtered a lot of people

Ah the good old Dr Who surrounded by people who cant act . Nothing has changed since the 60s and it's still good

I love how the doctor even against this great enemy was trying to be merciful by getting them off his scent so that he couldnt give them what they wanted, but in the end they reap what the sought, and the price of immortality is a cruel one indeed

This makes me wish i watched more of Doctor Who, he made the man be a scarecrow 😂people walk past casually not knowing there's an actual guy underneath, has no one ever randomly checked 😂 the absolute cold speechless savagery is exactly how I would be

if only 10th Doc were a woman, he'd be able to freely give up being a Time Lord and live as a human......

There is way more implied death and destruction in this show than i could ever imagine

One thing I loved about Ten is that for as funny and goofy as he could be at times, there was a darkness to him behind the facade. He really felt like a man who lived through the worst the universe had to offer and come out the other side. And this episode perfectly captures what that did to him.

The Doctor didn't just give The Family of blood strong punishments of immortality.

He averaged the victims they killed especially the people they possessed.

"We wanted to live forever, so The Doctor made sure that we did."

This is The Doctor going full Rassilon, he promises immortality and then cruses people with it.
