Batter up
ОтветитьI've been in the vicinity of the Albert Hall many times, but never inside, I've seen many acts in the Cambridge Corn exchange, great venue. Did you walk down the street to "The Eagle"? Famous for Watson and Crick drinking there, and for its Zippo smoke grafitti from US and British, and other airmen from WW2.
Looking forward to other travelogue videos from the trip👍
How good was the "pin prick" sound from Comfortably Numb?
ОтветитьSeen The Aussies 3 times. Seen the real Pink Floyd 6 times. The Aussies do an Outstanding Job.
ОтветитьSteve, you should be getting a commission from the group. I had never heard of them before you mentioned them some time ago. I got my first PF album (Ummagumma) from my sister, I think in 1968
ОтветитьThe French Pink Floyd are good, aussi👍
ОтветитьSaw Britt Floyd last year….very good
ОтветитьThe time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
ОтветитьThey will be in KC May 18, 2025. Looking at tickets now.
ОтветитьYou are so lucky. I saw the real Pink Floyd at the Metrodome in Mpls and the sound was horrible
ОтветитьI saw T'Pau live once. They were quite good.
ОтветитьSaw Australian Pink Floyd here in Spokane Wa on my 64th birthday, August 2nd. First concert in over 15 years and worth every second of it - definitely a show to see!!
Ответитьl’ve see Pink Floyd play twice :)
ОтветитьGlad you had a chance to see them again.
ОтветитьI saw Brit Floyd at Red Rocks. I've seen Pink Floyd five times. I would love to see your friend's Aussie Pink Floyd too.
Seeing Brit Floyd at Red Rocks was a fantastic show!
I saw them in New Orleans at the Hardrock, maybe 400 capacity venue, amazing show

Ответитьif you fo again, i hope you can tour abbey road studio -
ОтветитьI went to a horse show in Virginia Beach in 1978 with some buddies. During my naval enlistment. For the sole purpose watching The Beach boys play intermission. We were going to leave after they were done but actually enjoyed the horse show too.

ОтветитьI saw Pink Floyd in '94 (still have my ticket stub), David Gilmore is coming out on tour and is going to be doing some Pink Floyd music, but not much Roger Waters written music I would guess.
ОтветитьDude, you went to Royal Albert Hall for a show?!? Legend!
I just love that the Biggest News ever is announced on the Friday Vault!
I will definitely see them again when they tour the US, or if I am lucky enough to sync when traveling abroad.
ОтветитьI saw Aussie Floyd in Dundee this year they were fantastic! I have also been to a gig(Jethro TJethro Tull) in the Royal Albert Hall, it is an extremely cool building. Glad you enjoyed both shows. China In Your Hand was huge in the UK, by far T'Pua's biggest hit.
ОтветитьThat seat at Cambridge sounds awesome. Reminds me of the seats my wife and I had in Tampa to see Billy Joel. When we got through the que on Ticketmaster, the only seats left were second level behind the stage. Billy Joel starts out on the piano, which was almost directly under us, but there were these big black screens like stage curtains that wrapped around the back of the stage and a few seconds after starting with Piano Man, that unmistakable solo intro to the song, he stops and says wait a minute, I can't help but feel a presence behind these curtains, but of course we can't see what's happening. He come around the front edge and says, what are you guys doing way up there? You couldn't possibly see the show. Then he pulls a rope and the entire curtain drops behind the stage and he says, Now you have the best seats in the house! And wasn't wrong. We weren't more than 15 to 20 feet above the stage and our seats were front row even with the piano. I could have counted the beads of sweat on his forehead. Hands down, the best seats and one of my favorite, If not the favorite, performers(probably a tie with the band Styx), but I still think your seat was better. ❤
ОтветитьThanks, Steve! I'm happy you had a great time, and shared your enjoyment here...😁👍😁
ОтветитьSORRY STRVE THERES ONLY ONE REAL DAVE!🤬
ОтветитьNow I understand why you did the
“ INTER-POOL STORY”. 🤫
Tax write off for your trip! 😉
top of the pops was the british version of american bandstand
ОтветитьSaw Pink Floyd many moons ago, it was great. I'd like to see Aussie Pink Floyd. Now it's hard for me to go to events because I don't walk to good. By the time I got to my seat the show would be over.
ОтветитьA great review Steve. Dave's a good guy, great player and very talented at programming the on screen visuals you see in the show. He incorporated some of my Aussie Floyd poster painting artwork in the intro film before they come on stage. Nice that he took you to Cambridge, where I'm from. We saw a couple of people up in the side box balcony, I guess it was you. Was the drinks bar open behind the doors? Cambridge is legendary with Pink Floyd history. Syd Barrett, Waters, Gilmour and their first guitarist Rado Klose all come from there as did their Hipgnosis album cover artists Storm Thorgesen and Po Powell. Dark Side/Wish you were here sax player Dick Parry also a Cambridge man. Great you met Dean Howard, another fine player and good friend. Check out his band Cats in Space, Dave has done videos for them too and I've painted some of their album cover artwork. If you like Queen, Styx, Boston, Supertramp, The Who etc you'll love Cats in Space.
ОтветитьIf they ever play Jakarta (a lot closer than London), I'm in!
ОтветитьCongratulations on your trip Steve! It sounds amazing!!!
ОтветитьI had DSOTM on 8 track... LOL
ОтветитьDave Fowler is such a great guy. So happy that he took care of you. And I frequently say about Aussie Floyd, if you close your eyes, you'd think you were listening to the real Pink Floyd. They are such amazing musicians and their love of PF shows through their music.
ОтветитьEven I only know of Dave from your videos and his comments "down below", I want to buy him a beer.
Ответить"Heart and Soul" is not as good as "China in your Hand" -- although the latter is quite perplexing. It doesn't help that she meant porcelain -- but that wouldn't scan. "Bone china" wouldn't work either.
The name T'Pau comes from Star Trek, of course. So the producers of TNG sued. The band won, but the lawsuit can't have endeared them to their American record company.
Great review of an amazing band. David is an absolute gentleman
ОтветитьAs consolation did you get Factor to cater Thanksgiving dinner for your family? 🤣
ОтветитьThanks for the video, Steve.
I'm not really a fan of Pink Floyd. I like a few songs, but some of them are tiresome to me. My husband knew the fan who jumped and died at a concert, so he really doesn't want to listen to much of their music, either.
There was a venue in Esbjerg, Denmark called Tobbaken. It used to be a tobacco warehouse.
ОтветитьThat sounds very cool & would be something you would never forget! I'm sure you had a great time!!! I have seen them one time & I did not want it to be over with. Definitely the best show I have ever seen!!!😃🤘💯
Ответить50th anniversary for Wish You Were Here? It can't be. I bought it the week it came out. Well, getting old is better than not getting old.
ОтветитьHow many people got the Howard Dean reference? So funny.
ОтветитьTheir laser and stage show is great, saw them at the Warfield in San Francisco. Took my friend last minute for his birthday a few years ago. For those who don't know the Warfield is an old Vaudeville theater, one of the most legendary rock venues on the west Coast
ОтветитьCambridge seat sounds awesome 🎉
ОтветитьI remember Kurt Cobain on top of the pops he didn't bother with the lip sync 😂😂😂
