Great seminar! Can you fill in two blanks? What distance is “half the spool,” and if the shotgun is up top on a straight butt, and the two closest are on the corners on bent butts, where is the second farthest rod? Thanks again, and awesome seminar. These are the best

Would you mind giving the distance in yds of each line from the boat.
Really appreciate it!
Still trying to get the first one in the boat. I'm confident it's all going to come together between now and March. Our Wahoo season is just getting started over here in Venice, La

In the pacific, myself being Filipino. We have seen many 100+ lb wahoo especially in the Philippines, Tahiti, Cook Islands and Solomon Islands. Preferred method is to spearfish with a triple band gun and a float with a float line. The most challenging thing for bluewater spearfishing for wahoo and other pelagics in the pacific are the relentless sharks. That’s why we always dive with a team.

Hi Mike,
Just saw your wahoo video today. I’ve fished for wahoo for years off of Baja Mexico.
Your early bite is true when fishing inshore in the Cabo San Lucas area. But away from the resort areas fishing offshore like Alijos Rocks, the Ridge and Offshore island it’s an all day bite.
Over the past 40 years of chasing wahoo I’ve found that during dark of the moon the hoos will move into popular fishing grounds. Have you found the same in your area?

Thanks Mike for the tip on the mono for the DTX Minnows. Picked up 6 wahoos today and 4 on the 220's and they only lost some paint. Still cant believe how much drag I need to put on even though I was only trolling 8 to 10 knots. We have a calcutta wahoo tournament in Bermuda in 1st week of October if you ever feel like heading our way. Lots of wahoos in the 60 to 80 pound range that time of year.

Captain Mike - Great video! I appreciate that all of your videos don't just show you catching fish but are geared to really teaching us how to do it. I am wondering if you would recommend chafe protectors at either the 220 to swivel or the 220 to lure connection. Seems like it wouldn't hurt, but I don't know.

I pretty much did everything in this video but the two times I went out 2 of the 3 Nomad DTXs kept randomly coming out of the water. Granted it was rough out, 2-3' with 4 second periods. Have you had the same experience with them not tracking so well in rougher seas?

Congratulations Mike. Great Seminar as usually. One note: Minute 48. How the 200 all the way back is shallow than the 165 (second bait) ? Should the 165 be the first bait and then the 200 the second one? Going deeper closest to the boat?

Mike those dtx are awesome. They swim great and entice hits, but the hooks are not very good. There is no barb and the hook comes out so easily as im sure you know. Also the hook up ratio isnt the greatest because the hook is only directly under the bait (inline). Please try to change the hooks on your dtx220 to a dual (twin hook) 9/0 vmc hooks, front and back. Im sure you know the hook i mean, its essentially two hooks in one with a gap between them. You will have a hook on either side of the bait and they wont bother the swimming action of that 220. Also the barb on the hook is much bigger and they stay glued once hooked. Give it a try, if you dont like it you can always put those barbless nomads back on.

Mike
This was a great. Please explain why you use braid as a mainline for wahoo but for kings most people I have watched use mono for kings that can get quite large too. I thought mono acts like a shock absorber for the kings. Wahoo strike hard at very fast speeds so why is it not necessary to use mono mainline as a shock absorber? Does the 150 mono do that? What function do the line components serve? Can you please compare the two rigs between kings and wahoo? Is it still possible to catch wahoo when fishing for kings with 30 pound mono main lines and 60 pound leader?

Thanks in advance for your help. This seminar explained in more detail what your rod setup video showed. A big help.

Nomads are NOT the best lures. They are the most advertised and sponsored. Despite their so called patented ect ect, they simply just copied others’ designs. Every lure catches fish.

We've been getting a good bite off NJ usually starting in mid July. Last year I nailed a 52lber using my normal mahi/ school bluefin spread. This year I'm hoping they show up like they have been. I'm going to dedicate some time for these fish. The guys around here have started calling me Mr Wahoo 😂. I think cause I do it in a 16ft starcraft 😂😆😂. I try to tell people that having a spread in the water trolling about a half hour before 1st light is incredible. I usually leave the dock around 9pm and go look for live bait for pot hopping. I get on the grounds usually about 2am(20 plus miles). I shark bait set my alarm and take a nap. Alarm goes off and work begins. I'm usually 5 or 6 mahi in before any other boat shows up. These guys up here in Aug are horrible. They spook everything around the pots by 8am. Then I start covering water. That's how I got mine. It was literally 5 min before my fuel told me to leave. Persistence pays off. Gotta put time in
