Grand Moff Tarkin Talks to Lord Vader - Star Wars: Episode IV

I love villains like Tarkin; hes not sympathetic, but he's not a cackling comic book villain. He's not overly-proud and he's not a fool. He asserts that Vader is the last of the "Force" religion; but when presented with evidence otherwise, instead of denying it for the sake of his ego, he admits he could be wrong and gives orders accordingly.

A horrible fascist, but a level-headed one.

"Don't underestimate the Force...and don't call me Shirley."

Vader shifting looks a little... concerned with talking with Tarkin? Not intimidated, but definitely something.

Tarkin is 100% better than General Hux

If my conference room doesn’t have a giant metallic black ball on the table, I ain’t meeting.

Peter Cushing was such a good actor. Made Tarkin a legendary character and the archetypal "corrupted military-politician bad guy" for the ages in just a couple of minutes of actual screentime. He was born for that role as much as he was born to be Doktor Frankenstein and Van Helsing. I'm glad his legend lives on in the spin-offs like Rogue One and Bad Batch so long after his passing.

And people actually still wonder if tarkin knew who vader was or not.

What accent is his voice, anyway? I’m not sure I recognize that accent.

At no point in the film do you see Tarkin's lower legs, because Peter Cushing could not comfortably wear the boots meant to go with the outfit.

This shows just how truly connected and strong the bond between obi-wan and anakin is. He didn't even see obi-wan but he felt he was near and knew exaclty what he has doing. They were enemies by this point but still brothers. Brothers for life

Infact the postions those 2 current guards have was supposed to go to the 2 drunk grauds andor killed at the start of the show lol

Honestly it's funny all I can think about is the fact that 2 graurds in the background once were part of the corsec team that went to try to capture andor in the show. And somehow ened up being transferred to the death star years later lol

Tarkin is a way more badass villain than Vader in my opinion. Vader has the force on his side. Tarkin does not, but he makes up for it with sheer ruthless and calculated brutality.
Vader isn't pure evil, he maintains a fraction of humanity. Tarkin is inhumanity incarnate. Not sure if it still considered cannon, but I would really recommend that any Star Wars fan reads about Tarkin in the comics. He actually has to fight Vader and he is probably the only person who actually came somewhat close in killing him.

So we're just standing here listening to this.

Doesn’t this scene create a massive plot hole for the Inquisitors?
