The Best Classes in Guild Wars 2! PvE Tier List

Slight correction: when writing the script for this video, I wasn’t aware just how strongly Mirage got buffed in the previous patch. It hits super hard now!

I still think the class has major usability issues and a very steep learning curve, so I would probably upgrade it to B tier? Amazing pick if you are a god gamer, still not the best choice for most

I love Virtuoso! However, the thing that I feel holds it back compared to, Chrono/Mirage is that while it's nice that your keep your blades (clones) after defeating an enemy, the blades also don't work as distractions the same what clones do on Chrono/Mirage. I feel I'm forced to be running way more often and when the Mesmer is already very squishy defensively, if a horde runs as you you gotta also run! As far as damage and fun, yeah, Virtuoso has all of it!

Also, thing with Spectre that I feel keeps it from S tier (for me, personally) is that the Wells FORCE you into Melee range which is bizarre considering it has a ranged weapon. They should have a shadowstep return option or something. Like they say, get in and get out. 🤭Also, the ally targeting is silly in this game. With all the chaos going on and you have to perfectly click on an ally in order to target them but with other players or minions running around it's not that simple. FFXIV has a smooth system for this because they have dedicated healers, but ANET trying to to implement it when it was never supposed to be a thing in their revolutionary NON-TRINITY game is proving to be troublesome.

3 minutes in and my main is S-tier, 10/10, 100% objective and accurate tier list, would recommend.

Which class/spec is good for open world stuff? I started playing recently and I want something that can hold it's own in solo and group situations like fighting those strong purple enemies for example.

Yeah very on point tier list.. Not 100% same mind in everything but people play different and like different stuff.. How much and how you use keyboard and mouse plays big role too.. Do you hit 1-0 keys or will you click those whit mouse. melee or ranged.. and so on.. Right now most I use reaper and herald but I am all ways happy every time when I find nice team and I take my commander rifle mecanist to fight that is my what I like to most use right now. I get close to same damage with rifle what whit hammer. And with rifle I deal damage most of the time when others cant. Plus like my crossbow skin :) plus audio of it.

It's funny how the classes has changed since the beginning of GW2. At first there where just a view people who played ingenieur because it was so hard to play. Now with Mechanist everybody plays it because it makes a lot of damage and is easy to play. Necro was an Outcast at Fractals and Dungeons and now scourge and reaper a most common class. I think Arenanet did a good job there.

They're all S tier now but previously I would have said Firebrand, Scrapper, Chronomancer, Herald, and maybe necro.

Sounds like a skill issue list.

I 've been playing it for a while, loving it, but sucking just as hard. I am a fan of the Quickness dps build, but hit around 14k dps (where the Reapers hit 37k),
I want to contribute more to my fractal parties, and hope to learn a thing or two from you

Duel pistol lifesteal deadeye is kinda fire actually for PvE general and solo boss fighting. Would suggest a bump in ranting, but maybe that's just me. I bet it would be great in a group too.

Relic of the MIdnight King makes area might & fury super-easy on Renegade right now via Darkrazor's Daring (utility) and Scorchrazor (bow 5). The summons are really interesting in that enemies will attack them, especially hilarious if they go after your life-steal elite which has a 1s cooldown to resummon. It's "fine" in celestial, with a lot of boon and cc potential. It's more of a solid A-tier now thanks to the relic, especially with a staff to go with your bow. The elite gives an easy-to-maintain fire field for combos and generous life-stealing for allies.

Somehow It still feels the most diverse even if sometimes against its own advantage (like mentioned in the video).

Dual pistol deadeye is stupidly efficient in openworld, im not sure about fractals n stuff, but in open world you literally only have to use (3) unload and you do pretty damn good damage, you can also remain super mobile, its actually pretty decent!

The only one I still disagree here is untamed. You can do almost soulbeast's damage with much more forgiving rotation with tons of survivability. If you set your unleash on weapons swaping, you have free healing every few seconds with very good damage.

Would love to see a new class in the new expansion coming in 2024.

Ranger is the best pve your pet can tank and can revive

Jokes aside, Tempest for me will be in S tier. As healer is harder to execute than other classes, but really straightforward. As for other classes (did not tried Engineer only), most of them are HoT for me as those very enjoyable. Rest is fine, is good, but I'm not enjoying them that much :p

I agree with many of the points but I'm quite confused by when this video was made. You talk about the condition tempest and power scrapper like this was written after latest balance patch but you also state that dps druid is highest dps when it's currently 5th highest and you gave mirage a D even though mirage has the highest benchmark in the game. I don't think Mirage deserves S or anything but D feels way too low when you have over 46k dps bench.

I mostly agree with the list. Virtuoso pretty much deserves a tier on his own, its disgustingly overpowered. Also id swap spb to s tier instead of scrapper since its alot more versatile.

In terms of healers i think hscrge and dudu are quite overrated. Hrscrg barely has any rezzing potential since the nerfs on the well & transfusion and dudu is just awkward, to much locked out of healing skills and when played by an average pug the worst healer by far. Also HAT is still heavily underrated as healer, especially with herald taking such a dominant qdps spot right now.

This is honestly the best PVE tier list I have seen in years. Go girl 👍😎

Lara has right, doesnt matter which profession do you pick because all of them are good. For example: my favorites are the deadeye, the Mirage and the Harbinger :D all of them from the bottom tier, yet Im always (or 95% or the time) the top 1 dps in fractals or strikes. Just play what you want ;)

I agree with you 100%. vindicator or virtuoso is best dps class now days. you miss rotation. don't worry. you are going to be just 3th or 4th dps. you have successfully perform rotation then you will be first or second place.

p/p condi mechanist is the strongest solo pve in ow. Condi vin is close too.

The rise of the second era of chronomancer is upon us

Lately I've noticed how New World has ripped off bosses from GuildWars 2, the flame naga, here is Neishataun in the Tempest instance in New World. There's another similar boss where you fight a giant statue on a platform that the statue is inside the middle. Last boss of Lazarus in new world. Kinda sad how MMO's rip off GW2 badly.

When I first started playing GW2, I picked Weaver because everyone said it was the hardest spec in the game. I can confirm that I gave up on it and went tempest and ended up destroying in PvP (80% win rate across ~150 matches), but I always look back and regret not mastering weaver. Now that I came back to the game, my tempest feels neutered and I should probably revisit weaver.

I love the idea of bladesworn, it just feels so clunky when you have to stand still for your big burst.

I am still undecided on which class I want to do the entire story with from S1 on up. I am slowly leveling class to 80 and starting with another. I have 3 level 80 boosts I could use, but that will not give me a feel for the classes. I will probably just use them for the free celestial gear.

I've been maining dual dagger daredevil in open world and its been super good. In big events I rarely ever die because I have SO many evades that nothing hits me. And im getting boons and heals from others in events. Not sure how it does in instanced content though.... Probably fall off every ledge since they never have walls. :(

Why put Harbinger in C tier when you said you enjoy playing it? Sure it's not as survivable as Scourge but the playstyle is more fun. Scourge can't do backflips!

Guardian, Dragon hunter and Willbender do not exist. There is only Firebrand. Firebrand with axe, firebrand with swords and firebrand with bow. Lol

Now this is the confirmation bias I needed. All of my favorite classes are up in S tier

right now, only chrono has their own tier above anything else. u can have 10 man chrono without missing any boons
