I used to watch Linkara, because there really wasn't many options for comics reviews. Then I realized how deranged he was. I subbed because of the Pippa clip. Yep, that's all it took.

I was super into Linkara and used to watch every video up to 2012 when i lost intrest, funny enough that was the exact momment I met the dude at a con. funny that. I feel lucky i didnt get to see this movie.

I honestly don't get why people dog-pile on this movie. Its not a million dollar production, it's basically a home movie for fans of his show. Linkara's content isn't for me, but he made exactly what (I assume) his fans expected.

He's not like Spoony (who crowndfunded a Spoony film before doing something completely different with the money)
Or Nostalgia Critic where he dragged people into it for "exposure".

If you want to talk film budgets, Scott Schirmer made "found." For about 7k and it looks like a million dollar production...and if you want fun cheesy movies done on micro budgets...wakaliwood is second to none. Who Killed Captain Alex was about 200 bucks to make and the editing computer was made from old recycled PC parts

When you mentioned the microbudget bit I instantly thought of Napoleon Dynamite, an excellent slice-of-life idiot film with a $2000 college theater class budget. Also, every Scott the Woz essay.

25 mins in and I've subbed after several out-loud laughs. I remember a lot of these people from when I was keeping up with Spoony uploads. I always knew them as those people who showed up to ruin a Spoony video. Never had any interest in following them. Doug seems super cringe, Lindsay Ellis definately did better after leaving, same for Allison [movienights is great, imo]. Never saw the movies, either, but this guy needs alterations to whatever substandce god is using to spike Linkara's Oreo's.

honestly, the way linkara incorporated his over the top storylines into his comicbook review, gave me the inspiration to start my own channel. I just wanted to tell epic and cool stories and make fun and entertaining videos.
only years later I realized how cringy and unprofessional all this looked.

The fact I hate about Linkara is the green M&Ms are his favorite too. In my case, green is one of my favorite colors and I'll share all but the green ones. Those are mine to eat. His enjoyment is...less savory.

I like lore in review channels, but it does suck how rarely they tie in with the reviews themselves in a meaningful manner.

Just listen to his ...reactions, yeah, let's say reactions, to Oney plays's imitation of him. Say what you will about Doug Walker, he laughed out loud when Oney imitated him. They also imitated the Game Grumps, who are, unless stuff changed, still good friends with Oney. But Linkara... woooooooo doggies.
As a compliment sandwich type thing, TO BE FAIR, his skits sed to bookend the eps and were kinda annoying, but I think he got the message and now all his skits are post-review, so you can just watch him bitch about Rob Liefeld for 20 minutes and skip the 'I am the Doctor' section after. At least, last time I watched him, it was like that.

I think it's funny that Red Letter Media actually managed to make some interesting stuff as their own lore, e.g. Plinkett, and it's a lot of fun skipping between the reviews and the comedies they did. I think it says a lot that they are the focus of quite a few memes. "How does it feel to have lived long enough to see all your favorite franchises go down in flames?"

Whereas I liked the comic reviews of Linkara but just skipped everything else, and gave up when the everything else started taking over.

Also applies to every single CA movie.

My guess is that the insurance money was that demanding. If he's on Minnesota and at the time if my research is right most of that money went straight for the insurance so he could rent out the warehouse for the scene.

You know, I never knew until now that 90s Kid was a Linkara character. I thought he was some other Channel Awesome reviewer or another actor.

Linkara loves continuity, but the gauntlet has no magic powers, it was the gem, that's why the gauntlet was changed to a power glove from the only Malikath originally made.
