I'd like to see you guys expose other fake Japanese knife brands from China also. There are many of them (MITSUMOTO SAKARI for example).
ОтветитьForget The paper cut test The HUUSK cut test lol!
ОтветитьHoly moly, I didn't expect to see getting so deep, with a good swing you should be able to cut the tip right off. Not a blade steel at all.
ОтветитьFrom the British Stainless Steel Association website:
"The austenitic and ferritic ’18/8′, ’18/10′ and ’18/0′ stainless steels cannot be hardened by heat treatment and so can only be used for knife handles, forks and spoons."
What you have there is a sharpened spoon handle.
Please please please Pete can you baton through this Huusk POS with a Cold Steel SK-5 SRK or similar. I am certain everyone would appreciate that.
ОтветитьOutside the scope of knife snobism this is meaningless. I have a small victorinox can opener sharpened at 40° per side and paring knives thin as razor blades that won't withstand any abuse. Each one is fit for the job.
ОтветитьRecommend gloves and glasses for your next test.
ОтветитьYes, I fell for this scam😢 I bought two huusk knives and leather pouches from their website, I just wish I’d read the reviews first, rather than the 70% saving they were offering.
I bought them a month ago, and they are still unopened. Guess I’ll put it down to late night shopping. £90 lost to the scammers 🤦♂️
While I fully agree that a Huusk is an overpriced hoax, I have to point out that your test is not entirely fair. Your knife isn't stainless, so it's not really comparable. Stainless steel is generally softer than carbon steel, its virtues being in rust resistance.
Furthermore, your knife looks thicker and heavier, an unfair match. The big guy beats the small guy.
I add that those notches on your knife aren't so easy to remove either. They'll take hard work and eat away much blade metal in the process.
Should do huusk vs a bronze knife since they should be pretty similar lol
ОтветитьYes they are abolute rubbish.
Ответитьas some one looking at buying some decent knives, i'm very grateful
also, but no offence, vids of the kittens give me joy, love your work
Japan should sue huusk for defamation.
ОтветитьHuusk is a scam.
Cheap knives made in China as Japanese knives.
They have no shame.
You should chop completely through a Huusk knife with a machete or hatchet lol
ОтветитьCONDUCIVE not conductive. Sorry.
ОтветитьCould you try to give them a better heat treatment? Or generally try to make it usable. You could call it "Husk to Hero"
ОтветитьHey Pete, where you at? We miss you!
ОтветитьHuusk has a new review up that praises the knife and many many totally positive comments underneath. I am guessing it is fake/paid. Their ads are still popping up on my screen. There must be a lot of money to be made. They are claiming there are "fake" Huusk knives of low quality out there, LOL!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing
ОтветитьHuusk knives: A Lithuanian company drop shipping cheap, pot metal Chinese knives, claiming to be "Japan knives" with what, a Finnish name? Did I get that about right?
ОтветитьThe cruel truth.
ОтветитьYou have the quirkiest, funniest knife channel while at the same time remaining informative and fairly scientific. Thank you for the content, love it.
ОтветитьThat is pure looks. Sadly most will never know the truth and will buy these. What a slab of scrap metal. Looks alone are nothing. Performance was not in the design.
ОтветитьThis content in beautiful
ОтветитьThey're remarketing them as Viking style chefs knives now lol
ОтветитьHuusk equals pot steel
ОтветитьMy biggest question is what are those big tanks in the background?
Ответить'...IN MY OPINION'
ОтветитьI have to say I bought the G.I. tanto years ago for 19.99, and it is one tuff knife. Thanks for saving me money on buying a garbage kitchen knife.
ОтветитьNew series!!!
ОтветитьSeems that Huusk has forged itself an enemy more powerful than its steel...
ОтветитьWhat did that buck ever do to you 😢
ОтветитьSo I did some digging because I had a feeling these knives were going to be just like another brand I saw buying their way into the spotlight. The only thing I was wrong about was where their HQ is located, apparently they are headquartered in Lithuania, but the knives themselves are made in China. Realistically they have spent more on their false advertising than the actual knife itself. It's actually really sad that there are people out there who will likely be taken advantage of, and they will end up buying this piece of junk.
If anyone is interested in a good knife for the kitchen, I highly recommend Chefknivestogo, and for budget knives I recommend the Artifex series. You'll have to wait for the gyuto to come back in stock, but I have one and it's excellent. The pairing knife is a recent addition, and I really need to pick one up.
Great serration creation video!
ОтветитьIt belongs in a kitchen but not as a knife.
Pot steel.
Although your test was interesting I don’t know anyone who would abuse any knife that way no matter how cheap they are or who they’re made by.
ОтветитьNicely done! That’s a clever test.
Ответитьits insult to call it a knife.. Its a object shaped to resemble a knife but its definitely not a knife (cutting tool)... And to top it all off that it has anything to do with Japan thats a criminal offense imo.. Shameless , void of any dignity or pride and respect for real Japanese knife culture
ОтветитьDefamation? Ha more like deformation
ОтветитьThat's just sad. Would love to see you put it in a vise, bend it, and make a rake holder or something with that nifty hole in the handle
ОтветитьGood for you, man. Push back against that horseshit.
ОтветитьWhat about vs the Victorinox Chef that you were comparing in over video?
ОтветитьIs it made of aluminium 😂
ОтветитьThe huusk is performing as designed. It gives customers the option of diy serrations. Stop besmirching the name of such fine Japanese-inspired cutlery!!!
ОтветитьThis huusk knife doesn't fulfill either cooking requirements. I worked with it for different cooking purposes, it is just a show off and may nice as a show knife for medieval events 😂 Cheers, Jay Tee (@DieKochschau75cl)
ОтветитьWhat a crappy knife lol
ОтветитьI've seen these poping out on amazon, under different improbable brand names that sound like computer generated. They are obviously all from the same factory (which has nothing to do with "Japan"). The description may vary: from just "stainless", to "damas" (no shit) or "handforged", and for the handle: from just "wood" to "massive oak"... Pure garbage.
ОтветитьTaking it back to the bronze age 😢
