Is there a law against riding the bike on the sidewalk? It doesn’t excuse her behavior in any way, but it would add context.

Although she should have never have touched him, why the hell is he cycling on the sidewalk? That’s illegal where I live. That resulted in a death of an elderly person exiting a store in my town. Just cycle on the street like a normal person and don’t be an idiot. I taught all of my kids to stay off of the sidewalks with your bike because you can seriously injure someone. D’uh.
