I have been fasting since 9 dec2023
I take my dinner and lunch combined at 4 pm and drink luke warm water after that, then i take my breakfast at 11 am starting with fruits ... On mondays i keep complete fast for around 24 hours ie 4 pm to 4 pm...
First i had in my mind that i cant control my self but gradually i developed self control...
I have lost around 4 kgs in 25 days.. My target weight is 65 kgs...
From 79 to 65 ...
Wish my all the best...
I get a very sound sleep every night and i m high on energy and drinking lot of water every day..
My skin is improving...

Please explain why fitness competitors/body builders can get extremely lean (<10% body fat) by eating 450 cal (40P/40C/20F macro split) every 3-3.5 hours. Wouldn't the elevated insulin levels prohibit fat loss?

Would the body truly use the fat? I find there’s hair thinning and tiredness. You say to get the nutrients from the food but is there a lack of absorption when you get a certain age?

I feel like when i was fasting and only eating 700-800 calories it tanked my hormones and sliwed my metabolism...never lost any weight

just sleep instead of eating, or don,t buy food...i do this for years now...itls a slow peocess, but i binge 2 days a week...🤷‍♀️stopped cooking, same costs but zero work when dining out,,,🤷‍♀️and more variety( well.itls the same all the rime anywYs...but 4-6 differnet dishes! and even sugar loads sometimes! ) , at home...lemon water with birch sugar...and when hungry a pack of cheese firthe evening...🤷‍♀️down from 112 kg down to 80+ ! 🤷‍♀️

This goes hand in hand with fasting mimicking diet aka keto, you are less satisfied with what you eat hence you eat more if your on more carbs, for me that limit is 20g carbs a day where calorie control becomes an issue, when less than 20g carbs a day, and excluding nuts and berries completely I only eat to the limit my body needs and I recommend no more that 2 meals a day also, no snacking at all.

I have prescriptions that I need to take 3 times a day, every 5-6 hours, each time following a meal. How can I fit in daily/nightly prolonged fasting?

I have been alternate day fasting for almost 3 months now. Initially, I did intentionally overeat but tried to keep my calories below my recommended daily intake. It has workout pretty well. What I have found interesting is now I am struggling to eat the same amount of calories. Besides the first meal of my eat day, I am never hungry. I'm forcing myself to eat more food even though I have zero appetite. Has anyone else experienced this? My weight loss has increased this month so I like it, but not sure if it's healthy on the long run.

Why are you still referencing "calories" in terms of weight loss and nutrition? The calorie construct is a relic of the steam era and doesn't work for weight loss and nutrition - it's actually harmful.

I started intermittent fasting about 4 months ago. I eat breakfast by 9:00am, then my second and last meal of the day at around 2:30pm. Doing this is helping me to lose about 2 pounds each week. It also helps me to sleep better on an empty stomach.

When I wake up every morning, my stomach is growling, but I never feel ravenously hungry.

Glad I'm not making the mistake of eating larger meals, then fasting. Seems like that keeps the body really confused by either giving it too much food during a meal or having no food at all.

On OMAD, do I need to eat the protein from 3 meals in one, or just the protein of one meal? That won’t meet the daily protein requirement of 0.8 per healthy kilo .
What is dr. Fung’s opinion?

I don't want to lose weight, if anything, I'd like to gain weight. But I don't want to do it with poisonous amounts of carbs and sugars. I want to rely on fat for energy without complications, main reason being potential benefits of ketones on the brain. I've noticed improvement in mental clarity too. Any suggestions?

When i fast, the following days i get major jaw clenching and really bad irritation/nail biting anxiety why is this? when im eating im only eating keto foods twice a day.. a salad a 6ounce stake and maybe some nuts or an avocado - maybe its because i need to get fat adapted first if my body is not fat adapted yet it wont be able to burn body fat could this be a possiblity because eating carbs going into a fast i guess would do this?

Keto + int.fasting 16:8 works perfectly for me. Lost all extra weight in a few weeks, with only a few envy of sugars from time to time. So I take a small piece of dark chocolate, not more as dark chocolate contain oxalats. Eating healthy is not that easy. Even spinach contain a high dose of oxalates..

Just broke an 18 day fast. Eased in and planned over about three weeks. Easing out over about a week. Doing it for health primarily. Weight loss is onky a side effect.

What people need to remember is most of it will go back on. So don't be disappointed when it does. It's about health not aesthetics.

I lost too much weight too fast as I started 16/8, so I tried to increase my calories a lot in the 8 hour window, but I still lost a lot of weight. The only thing I really cut out are sweets like chocolate. I eat as much food as I want 2 times a day during the 8 hours window and I still loose weight like crazy...

I don’t want to lose weight. I want to clear damaged cells. Trying to eat enough carnivore without losing weight is difficult. 5 eggs and a pack of bacon and it isn’t enough for breakfast isn’t enough. Trying to fatten up for a longer fast.

But still it doesnt make sense to me... He says reducing calories doesnt work if you spread those calories out over the day. I have been severely underweight (anorexic) because of simple caloric restriction. I never fasted. I ate about 6 times a day, but very little at a time.

It should be noted that all calories aren't created equal. 1500 calories from lean red meat, salad, boiled eggs, tuna or other fatty fish and 1500 calories from fried chicken nuggets, hamburgers, French fries, hot dogs, pastries and so forth. I can devour a whole head of cabbage and a chicken breast on my one meal, but I would kill my diet with one 20pc chicken nugget meal.
