In High school I did comedy skits for certain classes and I always did my foster Brooks. The other kids loved it but way back in those days a kid playing a drunk was somewhat taboo

When performers had actual talent, and didn’t have to rely on the shock value of four-letter words. It was also before we succumbed to the cancer of political correctness.

My favorite FB joke:
Foster Brooks, one time before giving his speech said: "Before I begin, I must apologize for being in the condition I am in right now. (drunk) But I hope you understand that I have a very good reason for being this way, --- I'VE BEEN DRINKING ALL DAY!"

Doesn't matter how many times I've heard his shtik--- I laugh out loud. One of a kind!

He had a solid gold shtick. And was a great singer. Few know that he actually had an alcohol problem so he's well versed in the mannerisms.

I thought he was hilarious. I was around 10 or 12 years old when he was making these television appearances. Our whole family would crack up laughing. Today however, an act like his just wouldn’t be funny. He’s pretending to be drunk. Drunk people aren’t funny. At least not these days.

Sammy Davis is one of the greats. I thought he was awesome.

This was back when people had a sense of humor and weren't so damn thin skinned.
Back when real people could take some poking at folks and could laugh at themselves. Sadly those days are gone and so is real humor.
