This is oresentation wise, and thank you for that. Croatian Stews get their taste by the time of the preparation as well... nothing is actually done in 1hour of cooking, let alone in 15min.

CROATIA grows lovely capers (like all those other local ingredients) but unless you make your own tartare sauce you'll find it's made with chopped cucumber not capers. Make your own.

The hospital I work at will occasionally do an international day for a certain country. We've done Palestinian, Greek, Korean, etc. Today we had Croatian and I tried a seafood stew with sauerkraut that did not disappoint. By tried I mean I ate the whole thing. LOL. I wish we had these days more but they pay a chef that knows the particular cuisine well to come and organize it for a few days.

Too much ingredients and things doing, Dalmatian food is about simplicity. Also you never thoroughly mix fish, you just shake it.

I'm born and raised in Croatia and this is pretty close to something my mom would make for lunch in the summer. But our cuisine is really varied and in winter we might eat something completely different like Hungarian style goulash or German style sausage with potatoes and sour cabbage, at least in the continental part of the country. And then there's the classic spit roasted lamb which a lot of people dont seem to know about but is absolutely divine. Lot of good food here
