Fujians are very overweight and have severe diabetes among the population. Very sad.
ОтветитьLove Fijian food. Everything tastes much better with coconut milk. I love how fresh the coconut milk is.
ОтветитьLove these videos, as a country girl, we cooked taro leaves aka “callallo leaves” to make soup and bargie with cocoanut milk and pumpkin. 🇬🇩🇬🇩

ОтветитьAs a person that raised in 3rd world country like the Philippines, Fiji people have the same manner that you don't see in 1st world country like America (living here for 20 years now btw) and that is the politeness and genuineness of the people. They will welcome you with big smile... humbling experience
ОтветитьEverything looks delicious!

ОтветитьBud, the best market food I’ve seen video hands down. Going to Fiji in 2 weeks. I can’t wait to try and visit some or all the locations you went too. Thank you for putting that together.
ОтветитьNotice the more chili Mark eats with his food, the less he enjoy the food. I think Mark uses chili 🌶️ to mask the awfulness of the foods 😂
ОтветитьГде-то плачет Василий 😂
Ответитьwow to evry. Most have one time you dont like it haha
ОтветитьThat’s probably one version of rourou. In Trinidad we either throw in crabs or pigtails, those are the two ‘meat’ options we use in callaloo👌🏽Callaloo is essentially rourou (taro leaves, seasonings and coconut milk) but we also have pumpkin and okra in our recipe and some serious amounts of pepper😅
Ответить🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸
ОтветитьMashallah brother very nice video and I especially love how you explore the event from the lense of a business who could use special events to promote their brand. Nicely done!
ОтветитьVale you can't go Nausori without hitting the Raiwaqa Bakery for the cream buns!!!
😋
Talofa/Bula Mark, it was so good to see you visit our Fijian brothers, you should defo take a trip to Samoa 🇼🇸and other Pacific islands and you will not be dissapointed 👌🏼🤟🏼
ОтветитьMark has had rourou before in Trinidad 🇹🇹. However we know it as callaloo, and we use ONLY the youngest taro leaves that sprout from the middle of the stalk for the same reason Mark mentioned (use of any other taro leaves will scratch your throat and gullet). Trinidad has exactly the same colonial history as Fiji especially with the indentured labourers so it is no surprise many of the dishes look familiar, even the preparation is mostly the same.
