this is a pro gmo video, 99% comments here are hardcore/agro pro gmo, feels like i just walked into some secret right wing clan meeting in the woods
ОтветитьYour opinions that GMOs are bad are just a result of ignorance and misconception. You have been eating GMO food for years. It hasn't caused cancer. It hasn't caused allergies. You are still healthy. Eat on. May the world of science continue to improve our lives.
Ответитьyou called it [OAR - EH - GONE] and it makes me very peeved
ОтветитьI absolutely agree that GMOs in itself are no danger to health. But the way they are used is. They are not produced to reduce the amount of pesticides used, but they are used to increase this amount, just because the GMO producing firms like Monsanto want to sell their pesticides in package deals together with the GMOs. And increased use of pesticides can be negative for peoples health, but even more for the environment where it kills a number of animals.
ОтветитьGMO's cause organ damage including leaky gut which may be why you have stomach problems. GMO's are banned in 38 countries because they are not safe for humans. This is an old video and many of the studies offered here were paid for by Monsanto. Dr. Seralini's study which had 3 peer reviews shows GMO's cause organ damage.
ОтветитьWatch out for the Monsanto trolls following all of the gmo stories, there are several of them. "YES ! GMOs ARE DEFINITELY TOXIC" : DR THIERRY VRAIN. Check out this U tube video. Very convincing evidence on gmo damage.
ОтветитьNot all anti-gmo are claiming gmo's are bad. To put it this way, viruses change my genome and I am not sure GMO''s do it more... so I cannot be claiming GMOs are dangerous. Now, that Monsanto sues farmers for accidentally using their patented DNA structures, or forcing farmers around the world to use their designed-to-be compatible products are things i dont support.
ОтветитьPeople often say that the prevalence of celiac is caused by GMOs. My boyfriend and I both have celiac, and if GMOs are good for the world and keep people from starving to death, we will happily give up gluten. It's selfish to think that an inconvenience for us outweighs potential for substantial improvements in quality of life for others.
ОтветитьOw cool
Ответить*GMO are not just food
ОтветитьThe safety of a means of producing junk food (more corn syrup, chips, and sugar) is certainly a good reason to produce more junk food. Nevermind the extra pesticides used on GMs and their effects on humans and the environment
ОтветитьThe institute lied! And your talk is bias. I won't be watching your videos again.
ОтветитьThe video is 4 years old. Since then the most impactful new studies have definitively ended the GMO debate. It is benign at worst, a savior at best and there is NO connection to cancer or other maladies the organic goons tried to stick to it. Countries with GMO bans are lifting them. There will be no fear mongering labels in the US thanks to Obama's law. Citations on request. Oh, and your favorite whipping boy Monsanto no longer exists so stuff it.
ОтветитьThis topic needs to be revisited since transgenics has really taken off lately, especially with the advent of CRISPR and gene editing techniques like RNAi.
ОтветитьFarmers have been saying this for years yet no one listens. Also you didn't pronounce oregon right, its pronounced like organ.
ОтветитьGod, I love science and research. We need more studies, but that's true for all things.
ОтветитьSo my purebred dog is a GMO
ОтветитьNow farmers will have to buy the seeds and pesticides from the company. Farmers used to save their own non GMO seeds. And they cross contaminate non GMO plants. Some GMO produces it's own pesticide (yummy). Mice tests only last a short time. Some people test these GMO beyond 3 months. The mice starts to grow large tumors on its body. GMO is in vaccines. They can turn on and off gene expression (autoimmune diseases). This is bad technology and it can never be recalled. Franken foods should of stayed in an underground lab.
ОтветитьThere’s no law of evolution.
ОтветитьYes! I love my shiny beautiful imported melon sized apples that are full of S H I T ! ! !
I'm pretty sure that as long as we live in capitalism there is no place for GMO's as peoples brains are rotten to the very core. :/
GMOs' are fine, but a plants lineage, even if it is "modified" by you, does not belong to you. If you are smart and want to control it, build a plant that won't germinate unless you bless it personally. Otherwise shut the fuck up about other people planting seeds from plants they have already paid for.
ОтветитьSaying mutations or evolution are the same then replacing or adding genes in a genome...
One is a series of incremental steps, the other is a big jump. While they eventually may lead to the same result, you might as well say that taking 20 steps down a stair is the same as jumping a floor because you eventually reach the same level.
Thank you. It is so sad that the scientific community has to keep repeating themselves over and over about how safe GMOs are. Nothing seems to penetrate the skulls of the true "MonSatan" believer. Much of the anti-GMO agitation comes from groups funded by the American organic food industry. Also Russia has tasked the same outfit, the Internet Research Agency troll farm that interfered in the 2016 US elections, with fanning the flames of the anti-GMO fires. Russian government media outlets in the USA like RT devote a large percentage of their stories to undermining American scientific endeavors, especially genetic engineering. So it's not surprising many people think there is something wrong with GMOs. They have been misinformed, intentionally. They continue to pay exorbitant prices for organic food that is no healthier than conventional food. And the US food producers pander to this misconception by loudly trumpeting that their food is non-GMO even when there is no GMO version of that food available on the market. So, of course people think, "Well, if they have to label the product as non-GMO, there must be something wrong with GMOs." Meanwhile, the food might be full of "natural" fat and sugar, but the buyer doesn't care, it has a non-GMO label on it...
ОтветитьGMOs gave me a baby and I ate it. Now tell me GMOs aren't dangerous.
ОтветитьWe should try to create XMENS like this😀👍
ОтветитьGmo's aren't bad for the individual but they are terrible for a society bc of how they are being used. Soy crops made resistant to roundup or diacarmaba mean that farmers planting them can practically bathe their crops in the crap with little concern for the externalities, like what happens when your chemical shit washes off your fields and into my certified organic field, or non gmo seed crop or worse, leeches into the ground water poisoning everyone using well water and putting children especially at risk of weird cancers from untested, barely regulated pesticides and or insecticides.
Other GMOs like Neonictids are nuking beneficial insect populations into history while fostering evolutionary pressure to super charge the bugs that parasitize the crops we're trying to protect. In an arms race, bugs have 100s of millions of years of experience on us and It seems more and more that farmers and corporate agronomists are taking a scorched earth mentality when it's comes to the fight against weeds and pests which is terrifying for people not capable of photosynthesis.
Moreover letting a company own genomes under patent is just intrinsically an anti democratic concept and bound to lead to corporations doing fucked up things, like in Michael criton's last book published before he died, "Next" where a company patents a man's cancer fighting cell mutation and after losing the cell line to industrial sabotage, demands to be allowed to extract blood and tissue they now legally own from the man's young grandson, by force if necessary. In such a scenario the company could even charge the relatives who carry the mutation licensing fees, like if you inherited you father's computer and it had a computer program like Photoshop that demanded annual usage fees. Therefore, becaue of all this unregulated wild west bullshit its the implementation of gmo's into the anthropologic-sphere that I'm against, not the technology or the end product itself.
Are you being paid by Monsanto. There is all kinds of evidence against GMOs.
I WILL CONTINUE TO GO AS. GMO FREE AS. POSSIBLE
You said it all. The majority of the studies are funded by those with a financial stake. Just like every other thing you talk about here.
I love the fact that more people are getting into small scale farming. In MN, there are a lot of CSA programs that supply naturally grown foods from people in the community. Most of them won’t get organic certification because it’s not worth in and in many cases their products are far more naturally grown than those that are organic. Not only that, the price is very competitive with mass farmed products in the supermarkets.
In my opinion, this is the best reason and the best way to support non-gmo foods.
So my friend's concern is not about GMO food, but about the ability of much greater weed killer, roundup, which increasingly is being found to cancer. It not being studied, doesn't make it not dangerous?
ОтветитьLike I'm all for GMOs I don't agree with the natural vs artificial arguments that go on with GMOs but if you're able to use more of a very strong pesticide, the science around which is concerning, there is concern of that being absorbed.
ОтветитьAre you Roundup Ready?
ОтветитьI think you would agree that drinking herbacides is a bad thing. High Yield herbacides have been found in underground drinking water in several places in Texas. Gmo crops promoting this practice is dangerous. Safety is a practice that does not make any money in business and is the first to get neglected. Organic is not perfect but it is a step in the right direction.
ОтветитьPlants can directly pull genes from other animals, 8% of human DNA comes from viruses and has or can be repurposed in our genome. The issue that I have are Monsanto coming after farmers that didn’t plant GMO soy and get sued out of business by Monsanto. Monsanto states that neighboring farmers stole property when the wind blew pollen from one field to another.
Ответить"Or-a-gún". I literally shuddered when I heard the Or-eh-GONE.
ОтветитьThanks! I was always weary of those anti-GMO lobby. They may be doing more harm than good.
ОтветитьPlease remove this channel because it is offensive and and has no credible sources!
ОтветитьDon't censor me
ОтветитьYou've missed pronounced Oregon It's correctly pronounced as Oregen but it's really spelled Oregon
ОтветитьYay
ОтветитьI think many of the issues with GM crops are more to do with politics and economics than safety.
...
My old crop works here, I need to do lots of stuff but it works..
Your new improved crop needs me to do less stuff (water, weed, rotate... other)
That sounds good, my old crop I took part of the harvest for next years seed, oh I can't do that any more?
But it's cheap to get the seed.
Until I disagree with suppliers politics, don't have ability o do he extra stuff (water, weed, rotate...other) , 'cos I don't need to anymore, don't have he old crop seed anymore.
...
Do I feel safe eating GM crops,
Yes? Same level of safe as most mass produced food
Should it be labelled? Yes! Why ae you doing it? It's cheaper! .... to me?
Do I want it? Mainly no., see economic and political arguments above.
No really a health or science issue.
Just my thoughts.
hanimni no
ОтветитьWatching this in 2024🫶
ОтветитьSo what has happened too crop rotation and ranch/crop rotation for regeneration.
Or
Laying fallow a percentage of your fields, without tilling for a scheduled number of years t regenerate.
To allow organisms and micro-organisms, natural moisture balance and natural aeration can occur.
Too much brain work, huh?
GMO is sometimes a scary word. Some people hear it and think of poison, others think innovation and security. Either way a GMO is essentially any food which has been modified by humans, whether a big modification or something smaller. A change to resist more insects or to grow sweeter or larger. Some foods when not handled with care and precise science to remain safe are more dangerous, when done well GMOs may be able to help revolutionize crop and and livestock growth.
