As a counselor by trade and training, I appreciate how Chris simplified the process for Brandon - "Same camera, Same lens", "fixed focal length", same context, presence, "making it matter"- meaning, values, and bringing intention to it.

Loving this series!! It’s so interesting hearing about others’ journeys and it’s inspiring my own.

My take away for growth is to be really intentional on my photo shoot- decide on one or two specific techniques from an inspiring photographer and look for opportunities to achieve this on the shoot.
Yesterday I climbed a lookout tower with my kids. My goals were using light & including background. My aim was to try and light just their face from the small window inside the dark tower, and a second aim was, at the top of the tower, to include the background to anchor the portrait in a memory of time and space. I feel like having specific goals has cemented the learning moment for me to build on in the future, rather than it being a random thing I thought of and tried that floats away amongst hundreds of images. Thank you Chris for sharing your time and wisdom
