I am shocked at how many bz4x vehicles were sold. All of its specifications and styling is behind other brands. I can’t think of anything it does well. Hybrids are obsolete and are nothing more than a gas car with a tiny battery.😊

30k is not affordable, but spin master Elon convinces you all it is. I want the 5k China 4 door crossover. Even if it was 3x that that is still affordable.

I would not even pay $15k for that piece of junk/garbage. Toyota CAN'T produce good EVs - yet likely not ever. The Chinese will put ALL ICE out of business in 5-10 years, depending on how fast they can scale production. ICE=DONE.

Tesla's forthcoming cheaper models should help fill the gap in the USA EV market left by exclusion of inexpensive Chinese EVs and scaling back of inexpensive EV models from other American and American allied legacy automotive OEMs.

Toyota is another 'head in the sand' legacy auto maker that does not have a clear vision for the future. The BZ4X is selling poorly because it is a poorly engineered vehicle. It gets poor range and had some serious quality problems when first introduced, such as the wheels literally falling off! Just because you're the biggest doesn't meant you're the best.

Their c suite messaging has failed for the first time.

The funny part is that Toyota claims to have breakthrough solid state batteries that are vastly better than their competitors. If they truly did have this tech as they have been claiming for years, ( claiming it’s coming in a year) why would they still be investing in hydrogen??? Toyota seems to be lying to investors.

We see a "lack of demand" from legacy makers, but not from new entrants. Seems like the public just doesn't think they can make EVs. So this is a marketing problem: they have to change that perception. The BZ4X isnt that bad a car. 250 mile range is in the with pack. But the perception is different. Toyota, Ford, GM = ICE. Tesla, BYD = EV. One is yesterday the other is the future. Nobody considered Kodak digital cameras even though they weren't bad. Kodak = film.
There is a pathos associated with a disrupted brand. Like Microsoft trying to be hip with AI.

We passed laws regulating science and it is impossible to build affordable EV cars with decent range and the ability to charge. Rural areas have little electricity to charge cars. Even my neighborhood there is not enough electricity to charge EV cars unless the entire grid and wiring, transformers are replaced. You cannot change reality

Toyota is too old to change. This is the problem that it has and it’s using the reliability of the Tesla CEO’s words to actually be what they achieve after all that CEO has literally lied from the word go because it was Tesla‘s design at inception to build the car for the people an electric car under $30,000. That price is now constantly increased that only the manufacturers could possibly receive a car at less than $30,000 now that China is threatening and achieving said goal for the Chinese population they show what a nation can do when it has a goal set to achieve where Americahas shown it can’t be trusted and it cannot control its businesses that operate within its borders under American law because American law is changing so how can the world trust America?

Tesla has a proven product and a ten year head start. Superior technology and firmware. Most of the car parts are made in house. Other car companies are only developing their technology, out sourcing critical parts and the manufacturing ability will be slow to develop. Expect a lot of bugs and recalls. Not worth the risk as a consumer.

I don't get this "slowing demand" claim at a time when EV makers are expanding aggressively into SE Asia, South America, and Europe. If they came out with a $28K EV, like a Yaris-EV or Corolla-EV, they would probably sell very well in North America.

My gut reaction is neither. Legacy auto lacks real understanding of the future of the automobile and are in extreme denial because of it. I have never really disliked Toyota but they are proving to be just as legacy as the rest so good riddance.
