They gave me an employees discount with Magenta Max which brings it down to $118 for 3 lines from $140 for life.. FYI that $800 apply to the market value of your used phone and the diff goes to your bill. So if your XS market price is $720, you only get $720 amount towards a new iphone and the diff of $80 diff from $800 is credited towards your bill.

So basically the phones aren't free, you end up paying for it in higher service costs

Mid September 2022: Was trying to trade in my iPhone 11 for an iPhone 13 256 GB storage variant. Since I am on a 55 + plan with one other family member, the deal was not worth it. Plus the really frustrating situation I dealt with is a few of the T Mobile reps whom I talked with, or communicated with online, or through T mobile's phone app, gave me a different story as to how much of the trade in value of the iPhone 11 was going towards the iPhone 13. I have dealt with about 8 different T mobile customer service reps in the last week, and I was given different information by several of these associates.

I was told by the most recent TM Rep that with the $400 trade-in value of my iPhone, that only $215 was going towards the trade in towards the iPhone 13, and that the other $185 would go towards my phone bill. I wanted the entire $400 to go towards the iPhone 13. At least 3 other T Mobile associates told me that it was possible for the entire $400 trade in value to go against the iPhone 13. Conflicting information here. I even stopped into 2 local T Mobile stores, and was given completely different info on the trade in.

At one point I was told by another T mobile rep that I would be getting $500 trade in value for my Iphone 11, and that the entire $500 could be used towards the iPhone 13. The inconsistent information I dealt with from multiple T Mobile reps is really disappointing, and just shows blatant incompetence.

I was also told that I could upgrade to a regular monthly Essentials plan, from the 55+ plan, and then I could get $800 trade in for the iPHone 11, but that would mean spending an extra $20 plus tax per month on a higher phone bill. In less than 2 years we would spend more on our regular monthly phone bill than the additional $400 trade in value of the iPHone 11, so that's a really idiotic suggestion.

I will stick with my iPhone 11 for now, which I actually purchased directly from Apple a couple years ago. It's still working good, but battery life is has degraded to some degree. When I need another phone I may just buy it outright again from Apple, or see what deals Best Buy has. After all this BS from t mobile reps, I don't trust T Mobile to get it right. So far they have handled our monthly phone bill just fine each and every month, no problems with that. But what I have gone through this week with T Mobile - I have no confidence anymore with T mobile doing a trade in deal correctly.

The “trade in program” is nonsense. Might as well just save up and buy the phone outright. I traded in my 12 pro max last year for the 13 pro max 1 TB and still had to put down $880. And I get a “credit” added to my bill each month. 🥴😂🤦🏻

We want to buy two new phones probably high 13s instead I 14s or maybe a Samsung and then make payments on those after we find a carrier that’s competitive with what we’re paying now with Consumer Cellular which is $55 a month just for the service

You shouldn’t have to trade in your iPhone or any phone for a upgrade especially if the phone is paid off they should just upgrade your iPhone for free each year a new one comes out

Tmobile is garbage, the employees lie and provide misinformation constantly. They outsource all cust support to the Philippines and the language barrier is unreal. Dont waste your time with this inept company.

T mobile sold me 3 phones that didn't work and refused to honor the warranty. They made excuses until the warranty was up. Now they are lying to me getting me a phone. I have been without service for a month now. They refuse to give me a pin to transfer to a new company. Its a friggin nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES. ANYTHING is better than trying to be with these guys. missed calls, missed texts... it is unbelievable they are in business.

Very disappointed. I called to get a new phone, I was told about the current program and ordered a Samsung A 53. I was then told it was not in stock and to call back tomorrow. After doing this each day for 4 days I was told the promotion was over and would have to pay $ 300.00 more for that model. A supervisor couldnt help.. Not a good way to run a business.. Eric N

Long story short, apple promised the t-mobile credits and never gave me them.

$500 down the drain and honestly I’m not even able to pay it.

I find it a bit weird that on Tmobile's website concerning trade ins, they say that doing it in-store gives you the benefit of getting the credit applied towards a transaction (like trading in your phone to upgrade to a new one, which should also work for specific promotions), but when chatting with one of their "experts" on that pop up chat thing, they tell me that it doesn't get applied that way and it only gets applied on billing cycles.

So idk what to believe anymore

The problem with it is that they cap the value at $800 regardless of the memory of the phone. In the UK they had a plan that would upgrade you to the top tier iphone similar to what you purchased, for example if you bought the highest memory, they would also give you the same phone.

T-Mobile insurance if your phone gets fucked up will send you another fucked-up phone

I’m on the military magenta max plan and has had very much terrible experience with T-Mobile. The phone they sent my post office sent back with the AirPods and I ordered another one and they telling me I won’t get my money back for the down payment when they clearly told me trade in your phone and the other one is on them 🙄 it’s been since December and I call like everyday

STAY AWAY FROM t mobile I was with them for 3 years and I had to call every month to fix my bills they never ever apply the credits they promise and they had a lot data breach
