The Ford Explorer copied the Land Rover
ОтветитьI just got a Discovery 2023 fully loaded. B/B 3rd road seat. the 3rd row seat does not have easy access. but a lot of leg room once you're in it. drives very smooth considering it has 22' rims. has a kick once you put it on S drive. very please that I got this vehicle.
ОтветитьGood paced review. No stupid jokes, no nit picking or oily false praise. Just honest stuff. Thanks.
ОтветитьRange Rover interior, looks like plasticy shit ("chromed plastic"). Landrover looks much better.
ОтветитьWhich is better?
ОтветитьMy 2017 Disco has the diesel and it's amazing. I put larger KO2 tires on it. I think it beats the defender. Mine also has a tailgate that I think is a must have on it.
ОтветитьSo… which one is better?
ОтветитьBe careful of that fence you’re sitting on, you my get splinters!
Ответитьim sorry ..i'd ask them to go to another warmer location.... that place's freezing cold ...jus look at that ice he's standin on.... and he has his sleeves rolled up.... jesus..!!
ОтветитьUnless Land Rover changed a long standing naming convention the HSE is higher than the SE and S. Come on Nathan.
ОтветитьI Own a Discovery P300 R Dynamic HSE got to say this is a best all-rounder you could ever got

4 cylinder engine block cracks under pressure. Costs $20k to replace.
ОтветитьNo$$$$$$$$$$
ОтветитьHow do you compare a Diesel Disco (2017-2021) to a Defender I-line 6 ?
Ответитьrun the tires at 100 psi
ОтветитьWe had a new D5 top spec HSE Diesel and it was a mixed bag...
Positives:
Quiet on the motorway
Reasonable economy when not towing
Leather seats looked good
Negatives:
Doors too deep - the bottoms would catch when opening in ruts/rocks.
Flimsy - interior trim came apart quickly. Bits fell off.
Exterior - we lost undertrays/guards torn off on minor tracks.
Electrical "quirks" - the dashboard didn't always work. Blank screen. You could drive and operate it but had no idea of fuel/speed.
Electric tailgate - would flatten battery. Happened twice. Recovery.
Cruise - wouldn't hold a steady speed.
Towing - throttle mapping was inconsistent which made low speed maneuvering with horse trailers not smooth as it should be.
Ad-Blue - it had a serious drinking problem.
Reverse tardis - felt big/awkward to place on tight lanes/trails yet lacked interior space. Land Cruiser is physically bigger but the opposite: it's more spacious on the inside but easy to place on trails.
Boot/trunk space: surprisingly small, Deerhounds hated it.
Alarm: unnecessary multi-step process for disabling the interior sensor (dogs) when popping into a store. Other brands use a button, works better.
Overall: mixed. Lovely shiny "country car" for "city" people. Wasn't ideal for our use case. Just not practical or durable enough. Wouldn't trust running one long term. It was a relief to get rid of it after 3 months.
Reliable?
ОтветитьGreat looking vehicles, capable off road, the only problem is that they spend a lot of time in the Shop and you spend a lot of $$$$ to keep them going.
Ответитьthe center console deep storage space can be optioned with a cooler which is why its so deep
ОтветитьFirst visit to your channel - loved your British references 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
ОтветитьTerrific comparison
Ответить"IDK why it did that, it's British..." Amazing
ОтветитьGgttt
ОтветитьI own a disco 5, take it off road every weekend through big boulders and all, never punctured a tire!! 20 inch rims with proper tires is what u want, rim size has nothing to do with a street tire without side wall protection
ОтветитьI ain’t paying that much for any of those pieces of u know what’s. You like getting pay for lying , you buy them 😂
ОтветитьI’d buy a rubicon…. Every single time
ОтветитьBest overview Ive seen - tons of info in a matter of minutes. Thanks man!!! Wil go for Defender 130...
ОтветитьWow, the 110SE is only $62k in January 2022? It now starts at nearly $69k
ОтветитьI live in Denmark. Starting price for the baseline discovery? 205.000 USD.
ОтветитьOver our Brits end I've got the deisel Defender D250, six cyl. 12mths, 10,000 miles on, brilliant, and over 40 to gall on a run, up to 45 with a light foot, so comfy, so powerful..
ОтветитьThe Disco is a great vehicle. I had one from our local JLR dealer and used it to tow my daughter's horsebox and it was SO impressive. Felt more planted and relaxed than even my own Range Rover - albeit I have an L322 which is longish in the tooth. Would love to try the new Defender.
ОтветитьDefinitely the Defender for the win. The Discovery isn’t even relevant to me anymore. Actually the Defender is kinda like a continuation of the Disco line.
ОтветитьThey're both junk. Unreliable Indian made junk. Close to 80k for what? Go get a Lexus suv. Made in Japan. Built to last forever
ОтветитьReally excellent commentary on these cars!
ОтветитьThat sold me! Lets go 110!
ОтветитьThe LR3/Discovery 3 beasts them all! Still driving my 2005 and it looks great as I put a lot into it to ensure it stays in good working condition. I also own a 2011 LR4 which is more luxurious. However, I prefer the LR3. The only issue I have with my LR3 is the fuel efficiency... especially in these times.
ОтветитьLand Rover discovery 2 is the best I don't even have to watch the video
ОтветитьEqual Monocoque Chasis 🤔🤔🤔
ОтветитьSuch big words. U must be from eastern pa. But west is best
ОтветитьAnd STILL the best out of these two - the LR3/LR4.
ОтветитьLove LR - my past two vehicles were LR. My RR Velar R-Dynamic SE P380 was so much fun, but not so much for rear passengers (space a little tight). And I would never have taken it off-road. But I loved actually seeing the air suspension do its thing. I do wish that LR had given the Velar of my year an open-exhaust option as I think that would have made the 3.0l Supercharged V6 bark rightly.
For some of the reasons you mentioned, I needed to bid adieu to my Velar as it was going out of warranty. I really wanted to just go with a more recent model, but *no* LRs - used or new - were available at my dealer in 11/21. So I went with a Mercedes GLE53 - pluses and minuses as one would expect. No perfect trade-offs.
Quick question to folks: when people ask me the difference between "Land Rover" and "Range Rover," I respond that generally the Land Rovers (i.e., badged with their models) are more of the "U" in SUV, while the RRs are more the "S" in said abbreviation. Thoughts?
A hatch with a spare on it sounds like a really bad idea.
Ответить👍🏼
ОтветитьJust what I needed to know, was the perfect explanation for the questions I had.
ОтветитьHow can you decide to review two different spec cars????🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ one is top of the line and the other is the bottom! 🤦♂️. That is like comparing apples & bananas
Ответить"Alpine" windows, I believe, not "safari"...
ОтветитьI have a 13 year old "end of series" full option disco 3 and see no reason to trade it in for a very expensive new defender
ОтветитьDiscovery was never the luxury vehicle. The Disco was the more comfortable off-road vehicle. Defender was the utilitarian off roader and Range Rover was the luxury model. JLR have completely blurred the lines. Discovery now looks like a Ford territory and Defender looks like what the disco should have been. The new defender and disco look great but they have the wrong names.
ОтветитьThat was a great review
ОтветитьDisco 1 vs 'old' Defender was a similar thing - same drivetrains, axles, chassis but different enough to pursue a 'comfort' market instead of the pure utilitarian Defender
