Cloudy Pool Water After Shocking | What's Going On?

Good info..I clean and change my filters every six months. I use the saturation index to stay on top of my pools numbers.
0.0 is my goal. It takes time and effort. But I do a 100% better than any pool guy. I taught myself with videos like this.I also have an automatic fill from irrigation water so I don’t use my well water and that irrigation water has algae in it makes the summer months very hard.If you do this maintenance shocking is a rarity.

Pool is still cloudy and light green. How do I clear the green?

I shocked my pool and it turned orange from the iron. After several days and a homemade filter I got it back to crystal clear. But here is my question. I just shocked it again and it turned back orange!! What is happening?? Any help would be appreciated 🙏

What to do if hardness is too high ?

I cleaned my cartridge filter. And now my pool is cloudy.
10 ppm and ph is at a 7.2
So what gives?

My pool gets very cloudy after Shocking and will stay cloudy until I add Muriatic Acid. The pool clears up within 20 mins after adding the Muriatic acid. My theory is that something in the shock precipitates out of solution and is brought back into solution by the lowering of Ph. This happens nearly every time I shock even with my pool chemistry being within parameters.

It was green. I shocked it then added clarifier. Still cloudy. Sand filter is cleaned after a back wash.

In your video you mentioned to change the sand every 5 to 7 years top off if needed so should I check the sand level in the first five years or are you saying when I change the sand top it off I don’t know I’m kind of confused is there a need to add more sand before you change it?
