I didnt consider his line of sight, yea wow, lotta trust in those other drivers.
ОтветитьThat fool knows what he is doing. I see this all the time with 4 wheelers. Dumb muthaf.....s!
ОтветитьThis looks like a case of a crappy driver who then caries over his bad habits to the Motorcycle.
ОтветитьThat guy has ZERO reaction time to ANY hazard. He is effective blinding himself.
ОтветитьHowdy from a fellow DFW rider! Love the videos and all the tips! New rider with only about 400miles under my belt so far, staying safe and having the time of my life on 2 wheels! If ya see a lil Honda SCL500 scrambling around it might be me! =P
ОтветитьGood learning video for those who don’t know basic road bike safety defensive riding….he’d be just as unsafe if he was lane splitting the entire time.
ОтветитьGood information
Ответитьradical moves are part of the fun. is that outlawed in TX? debbie downer says "lay off gramps, i got this!"
ОтветитьDude thought he’s in a truck. Dude you have no bumpers
ОтветитьI didn’t need to watch this video to know which bike he was on
ОтветитьI don’t understand why he didn’t just use his superior acceleration to pass the truck holding up his lane when he had the chance. It’s much less dangerous to just pick up a little speed, pass, and settle into a comfortable cruise than it is to do all that extra work to get in the same space. LP3 is preferred in the left lane, and LP1 in the right for the ease of switching between lanes for emergency maneuvers. There is no reason to be in LP2 on the interstate when you’re in traffic
ОтветитьId like to know why you think youre such an authority? If he wants to live on the edge thats his business lets follow you around you probably ride like you're in a Shriners parade.
ОтветитьSee this alot. He's leaving no safe space and no way out.
ОтветитьI agree with your riding strategy of patient lane placement, I use it all the time in my travels. But I do frequently see the above type of riding on interstates throughout Wisconsin. The other day I had a guy on a Road King do something similar around me in my Buick as shown in this video, It was freaky as hell -because this guy was within a few feet of every car, about 20 cars we watched him swerve around through traffic. Suddenly we are in a curve with 3 huge bumps in the road at 70mph - the guy almost spills the bike right next to us -didn't seem to faze this guy at all -and he amazingly recovers, continuing his speedy riding around traffic!! Shocked and amazed -me and my passenger both commented "any minute this guy is dead" -it was that unreal. He disappears up ahead and we never do see him collide with anyone. It was extraordinary, albeit deadly riding ability he had. Once in a while you just see someone who has a death wish -and that is just the way they ride -until they don't any more. For whatever reason. My brakes work very well on my Road King too -but I don't put the trust in them that guy apparently did. Cheers MC🙂
ОтветитьWhy are the roads so bad. They look like they're made from cracked concrete....
ОтветитьI drive a semi for work and a bike for fun. Most riders I see are pretty safe, but too many throw caution to the wind. Cagers are the same. I don't want any collisions with my truck, bc the company gets involved, plus DOT, cops, lawyers, etc. Be patient and we can all go home at days end....👍😺
Ответить287. I live two miles from here right off Bonds Ranch.
ОтветитьJust fucking say it.
ОтветитьI thought the guy has no real instints to riding. As I first saw him he had plenty of room to pull left, speed up and pass. His is first mistake by pulling over to the left lane and letting the car trap him behind you. From there is went down hill. If you are going to pass, you got to know you can, then get on it and go. Bikes are a lot quicker than cars. Oh yea, never follow in the middle, always to one side. Never stop at a light there either. That way if a car comes up ready to hit you, you can move up. Little things save lives.
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьSpace buys time, time buys options, options increase safety. Good route planning is better than bad route planning!
ОтветитьCommon sense seems to be less common now days?
ОтветитьOne good idea is to ride in the left lane so the driver ahead of you can see you as you follow him, plus you have a much better vision of the lane to your left.
ОтветитьSeems to me that everybody has tinted windows nowadays. Hard to see thru the car ahead of you.
104 degrees , I would have found some AC somewhere.
If not I would have been far left in the passing lane or far right in the rocking chair.
I hate being behind people like you. He did have a reward. He might've only gained a few seconds of time but I have no doubt he had much more fun getting there. Is it more dangerous, yeah. If you really want less danger, don't ride a motorcycle, in fact don't drive a cage. Take a bus, it only takes a few hours more but isn't it worth it?
ОтветитьWhat most motorcyclist don’t know is that four wheel vehicles stop much quicker then two wheels. This means that motorcyclists on the road require somewhere between 1-2x as much stopping distance as they would need in their car.
ОтветитьNot to mention illegal move too. All while had he just stayed in his original lane he'd been much further up. He lost position by trying to do all that passing. The original car he was behind was 3 cars ahead of him by the time he did all that passing and got back into the left lane.
ОтветитьI rode a 12' step ladder end to end on my VT500 following too close.
ОтветитьI was taught to ride in the left part of the lane because people see you in the rearview mirror and drivers mirror easily. Most people look in those two mirrors on a 4 to 1 ratio vs the passenger side mirror. Plus i ALWAYS ride with my HIGHBEAM on in the daytime.
ОтветитьHoly smokes! Let's talk about all the tar snake's. There is no highway, just road glue.
ОтветитьPoorly skilled HD rider riding his ego , illusive and super stupid , they ride a sub par machine with even more mediocre skill
ОтветитьThank You!🙏
ОтветитьNational safety council says 3 seconds when driving. I use 4 or more when riding.
ОтветитьAs a dirt bike rider I have to say I would never get more then 1 and a half car spaces away from the guy in front just because tailgating Is dangerous and rude
ОтветитьHe was doing a lot for a two lane highway
ОтветитьYeah, tailgating is rampant. I've never understood it. So dangerous. Thanks for this video.
ОтветитьMost of those strategies apply to driving a car aswell, but people are mostly oblivious to any danger until it's to late.
Tailgating especially is such a normal thing to do today, that most people aren't even aggressively driveing whilst being way to close up.
That is actually scarrier to me than a agressive bad driver. 😅
The following distance and lane positioning matters while operating a four wheeler, too, just not quite as much because you’re in an engineered safety box. I see a lot of riders fail like this around Chattanooga, TN.
Ответитьpeople like this will find their own accident.
ОтветитьI rode in Dallas for 20 years. You did not mention the center of the lane has a lot of oil and can be very slippery, especially with the first few minutes of rain.
ОтветитьI don't ride or even own a motorcycle, and I knew not to ride like this guy. He's completely clueless.
ОтветитьHe also is completely blacked out which makes him even that much harder to see
ОтветитьAlso riding in other vehicles' blind spots. I always try to keep out of them and move out of blind spots asap.
ОтветитьUnfortunately for him and whoever is involved in an accident with him, natural selection will, at some point, remove him from the gene pool.
ОтветитьCars are able to straddle things bikes can't. It's stupid-obvious, but I guess they miss making the point clear enough when they give away motorcycle licenses. And you don' t even get to count to two-potato on the highway dashes, so that's the amount of reaction time the guy is giving himself.
Also trucks has nothing to do with it, that sports car or low-rider slammed to the ground can also clear a mid-lane pothole just fine. A biker will eat it once the front wheel drops in.
Defensive driving, what's that?
ОтветитьIm on that stretch every day. Way too many rock trucks and service vehicles that drive much slower than the speed limit on that particular road to ride like that on top of it being bad form in general.
ОтветитьThose cars/trucks were being stupid, they were driving the same speed in the left lane instead of moving ahead and passing the semi. Ignoring the motorcycle, the trucks/cars were bad drivers too.
Ответить
